Let me preface this thread by saying that Manowar is one of my favorite bands. I have most of their official releases and enjoy them all, even Gods of War. But Joey DeMaio is a douche. I think we all agree with that. But not only is he the crowned King of the Dumbasses, he is a terrible bassist.

Deliverance - Assimilation

I love Deliverance's Assimilation. But then I love everything ever released under the Deliverance name. Jimmy P Brown is a hero...blah blah blah, you've probably read about my man love.

But alot of fans are torn with Assimilation, from what I have read, most not liking it. I think Jimmy's lyrics on Assimilation are VERY strong and the music while not "Weapons Part II", is very effective and enjoyable.

What are your thoughts on this album?

Is it worth getting the 2 disc ...

Any fans? I know they got together for a few shows recently, but after watching that VH1 show trying to get bands to reunite for a gig, I didn't think they'd ever do it, since Nuno's response was pretty much a big "F*ck off!". I think they went out with a big belly flop, too; Waiting For The Punchline just wasn't all that great. But their other three albums were excellent, especially III Sides To Every Story, which I think is way underrated.

I wonder if they can do another solid ...

The discussion of Henry Rollins made me think of these guys. Anyone else a fan? I became aware of this power trio after they became the backing band for the last few Rollins Band cd's. Turns out they have a solid discography of their own. Kinda 70's rock vibe with some funkiness thrown in for good measure.

These guys and gal are probably my fav new band, their record Soft Targets (2006) is one of the most inspired, dynamic and soulful hard rock albums i've heard.

Superficially i guess it's easy to compare them to King's X, cause how many multi racial power trio's are going around?....but their made of the same stuff as King's X.....really heavy muscular grooves, Beatles harmonies, multi soulful vocalists and even a hint of Ty Tabor guitars in there.

What is your Favorite Seventies Era Aerosmith Studio Album and why?

Mine will always be Get Your Wings. There isn't a dud on that disc and they were still relatively in control of their own destiny at that point in their career. If I pull out a Aerosmith album its usually Get Your Wings or Rocks. But honestly, they are all pretty killer until Get A Grip.

OK, so I'm a complete dork. I went to Best Buy yesterday afternoon and bagged the new Priest. I had heard it previewed and it peaked my interest. I love Priest and so I was going to get it regardless.

So....I show up, find it on the shelf and lo and behold, A BOX SET! What?!?! 3 LPs, 2 CDs, a Book, and maybe other stuff. I bought the box set and promptly took it home and put it on the shelf. I'll never see the inside of it I guess. I was like a little kid picking up some cool old KISS vinyl ...
