Haven't bought much, have you? Haha. How is that The Stoned CD? (I really grammar sometimes; that question sounds so stupid.) Anyway, it's on my $5 To Buy list. |
Just to throw my 2 cents in. Love the Stoned EP, just a great beer soaked paen to the frayed brown pages of 70's rock. Kinda like Black Sabbath on uppers riding shot gun with Humble Pie. _________________ "...Those tunes ain't an entertainment, their a way to be..."

| The top spot is still a tie between: Khymera-The Greatest Wonder Jon Oliva's Pain-Global Warning Avantasia-The Scarecrow Can't choose one over the other. This year will make it harder for me to pick a top 20 than even 2007. So many great releases from: Judas Priest Royal Hunt Alestorm Empire Human Zoo Edenbridge Moonspell Brainstorm Axxis Black Tide Warrel Dane Ayreon Firewind Circle II Circle Soul Embraced Testament Virgin Black Grave Robber Plus I haven't yet got the new albums from: Alice Cooper Seventh Avenue Jacob's Dream Plus others who haven't released yet: Opeth Evergrey Iced Earth TSO (maybe, maybe not) Heaven & Hell Holy Blood and other ones I don't know about or have yet to discover. Man, what a year! _________________

Sometimes I'd like to kill you. That's $1.50, at least. _________________ "Happy people have no stories." Therapy?

Nah, I really haven't. Having two kids that require constant food and clothing, to say nothing of the price of gas, has severely curtailed my CD spending.
But anyway, that Stoned EP is pretty good stuff. As Rattpoison said, they're like a 70s hard rock band with 21st Century production values. I hear a lotta Sabbath, Foghat, early Aerosmith, some MC5, etc. in their tunes. _________________

| Even though I purchase a lot of cd's throughout the year, very very few are "new releases". Of the few that I did pick up this year, the one that stands out is:
Testament - The Formation of Damnation
Great comeback and just an overall great release. Honorable mention goes out to Black Tide and Warrel Dane as well. |

| My two clear favorites based on number of spins would easily be...
Death Angel - Killing Season and Whitesnake - Good To Be Bad
Killing Season far surpassed my expectations. I love Death Angel but even I was surprised how much I took to this album.
Summer of 08 - I become a Whitesnake fan with this album. Slowly I'm getting the rest of the catalogue as a result. |

| I'd say that they're a little like Baroness only less progressive and a hint of punk? It's fast with heavy as an elephant riffs and sludgy/hardcore vocals. Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/bisoneastvan |
