How similar? Like Scum of the Earth rip-off or what? You heard Scum of the Earth? Rob Zombie must has that Blasko turd, or whoever fronts that band. He joins Zombie's band, then quits, starts a band named after a Zombie tune, and completely rips off the sound and style of the band. I mean, to a tee!
Come on! Can someone be any more blatant? They are a decent second-rate Zombie clone, though.

But I actually liked the first Scum album; the newest one "Sleaze Freaks" sucks a big one.

Mind you, I only listened to this disc three or four times in order to review it, thought it sucked, and I haven't listened to it since. From what little I remember about this not-so-memorable disc, the White Zombie comparison came from me thinking "Damn, this guy sounds just like Rob Zombie" every time the vocalist opened his mouth.
If memory serves, the music is pretty much the same generic "hard music" hippety-bop crap that's been getting on OzzFest and the covers of Metal Edge magazine since about 2001, and which we've all been sick of since 2002.
Boy, I'm doing a great job selling this disc ain't I?? Haha. So you wanna trade for it??

I like both, for sure. But they really do come off sounding very second-rate Zombie albums. And the first one is better. I just don't understand how this band could honestly rip off a style that was so unique and think they'd get away with it. Well, they sort of have, haven't they?

Actually, for my money, Rob Zombie's solo stuff sounds just like White Zombie too so he's essentially ripping off himself. It's just more tolerable because he was the mastermind behind White Zombie.
But since there aren't a lot of band plumbing this style (Scum, PM5K, Static X (maybe), and it's a style I like, I don't really care how derivative it is as long as I like it.

Well, in Rob's defense, he is what made White Zombie unique. Can't really get rid of that. Plus, musically I think White Zombie and his solo stuff is very different. And when you go pre-La Sexorcisto, you're getting into a very different kind of band.
