| One of thee greatest Heavy Metal bands of the first half of the 90's.
Like Black Sabbath shaken with the Stooges with the corrosive guitar rot of early Mudhoney and smooth creamy laconic metal of the Masters Of Reality. Then baked under the Californian desert sun. "Black Sabbath was inside music but Kyuss sounded like it was outside" is a spot on quote from someone who's name eludes me at the moment.
This is their best record imo. Any takers?

| One of the most overrated bands ever, in my opinion. Some fantastic song, for sure, but they also had quite a few horrible tracks. I saw them open for White Zombie back in the early 90s and they blew me away, especialy Scott Reeder on bass. I immediately went out and bought their albums, and was completely let down.
Over the years, I continued to try to like them, but I could never get beyond feeling that out of all their albums they had just one album's worth of amazing, classic material, and the rest was mediocre filler, or just downright crap. _________________ "Happy people have no stories." —Therapy?

| I think even the songs seen as filler work well in connecting the songs on the albums. Their albums are one big trip to be enjoyed as a whole. And that bass playing. Some of the best you'll hear. _________________ "...Those tunes ain't an entertainment, their a way to be..."

| | They were capable of really kickin'; but I think the weed really took away their focus or something, too much smurfin' around. Blues For The Red Sun tails off after the first couple of songs, and Sky Valley, I can't get past the fact that the songs are split into several blocs, you can't skip through them one at a time. Circus Leaves Town is more focused, but well on the way to QOSA material (Ok but not classic Kyuss); and I didn't care for Wretch either. I solved all that by burning my own faves onto a CDR. Yeah, that's a great CDR minus all the stoned BS. I do that with a lot of bands actually. |

| I'm as much a fan of a catchy 4 minute pop song (ala Green Machine) as the next person but when these guys stumble and trip off that garden path their equally as brilliant in my opinion. _________________ "...Those tunes ain't an entertainment, their a way to be..."

| | A great band I abandoned in the early 00's and have recently returned to. Great stuff. The only filler I hear is the Wretch album. The others are pretty consistently great to my chubby little ears. |

| | I recently traded my copy of Blues... to SpectreFate. I had it for the longest time, but never listened to it for whatever reason. I listen to allot of stoner rock/metal and in theory, these guys should have been in constant rotation, but for reasons I can't explain, it was a dust collector. |

| Kyuss are one of my favorite bands. Awesome band!! I love their trippy, hypnotic sound. Welcome To Sky Valley is my favorite Kyuss album. Even though I like everything they did.
I also like Jon Garcia's other bands he's been in: Slo-Burn, Hermano and the awesome Unida. QOTSA, I can't get into at all. |

| | I like everything these guys have done. VERY heavy doomy stuff. Too bad they broke up. I'd love to see these guys reform! |

| | Only had Blues For The Red Sun on cassette and recently sold it on ebay. When I first got that I played it all the time. It was a great album. I never picked up any of the other releases or even replaced the cassette I sold. Maybe if I find them cheap enough somewhere I'll pick them up. |
