| OK, I'm admitting it. I am a Food Network junky. I watch almost everything they show. I don't know why. I hardly ever cook. But my favorite show I think that was ever on Food Network was Iron Chef. Not Iron Chef America, which I watch only for Alton Brown, Mario Batali and Cat Cora. Kevin Brausch isn't bad. I digress. Iron Chef Japan is the coolest show ever. Those mofos eat some weird crap and I love watching them kill harmless sea creatures in the name of entertainment. The voice over artists kill me and I want to be the Chairman when I grow up. They show it on the Fine Living Network at 11pm now, and I am in freakin hog heaven.
Who's with me here? _________________

| I can't watch food shows.
That's like taking me to a nudie bar and saying "don't look"
Or taking a gambler to a Vegas casino and saying "no gambling". _________________ I'm warning you. I'll be forced to Thrash you!

| I loved the Japanese version of "Iron Chef" too... not only for the competition end of it, but also because the show was simply so over-the-top and freakin' WEIRD... I'm sure some of those "secret ingredients" aren't so weird in Japan, where they eat stuff like sea urchins every day, but over here seeing stuff like that had the effect of watching a sci-fi movie... and dubbing the show into English just adds to the surrealism factor. It's like watching an old "Godzilla" movie with food. By the way, I think I mentioned this in one of the various threads about Loudness, but I swear that as Minoru Niihara gets older, he looks more and more like "Chairman Kaga" from "Iron Chef." _________________

| I watch the Food Network on a daily bases. So, you're not alone. I don't watch Iron Chef America though, anything else but that. I love Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives. And I can't forget PAULA DEEN Y'ALL!

| Paula Deen is the one thing I won't watch. She makes me almost vomit when she sticks her fat little fingers in her mouth and licks them and says "That's sooooo gooood Ya'll" and sh!t. Wow, I detest her, thanks for bringing her up, Mortuary. _________________

| The only thing more annoying than Paula Deen is her two dorky sons (one of whom looks like Jason Bateman of "The Hogan Family," while the other looks like Joe Pesci's love child) on that show "Road Tasted" or whatever it's called, traveling across the country in their convertible eating the best pie, the best fried chicken, etc., etc.
The Food Network must've gotten sick of them too because I noticed the other day that on "Road Tasted" they've now been replaced by the Neelys (the lovey-dovey soul-food cookin' African-American couple)...who are still pretty annoying, but not as annoying as them Deen boys. _________________

| The Deen Brothers? Yuck. I bet they have anal adventures with each other. In fact, I'll put money on it. _________________

I'd put money on the fact that they dont' have the same Daddy. They look nothing alike. _________________

| Seriously though, I can't bring myself to hate Paula Deen. She looks like my dear departed Grandma. _________________

Sorry, but it's the truth!! She seriously does!! And my Grandma baked some kick-a$$ pies in her day. She could've totally beat Paula Deen in a bake-off. _________________

| On another Food Network related note, Spec: Who do you think is the hottest, Rachael Ray, Giada De Laurentiis, or Sandra Lee? _________________

| Depends on the day. Rachael Ray or Giada. Dang that's tough. Rachael is cute as heck but Giada is a knockout. Sandra Lee reminds me of someone's mom. I don't dig that much. _________________

My brother swears that Sandra Lee looks just like some porn star, he told me her name but I can't remember it now.
I'm a Rachael Ray fan. Giada's hot but she seems like she'd be high maintenance (her family is in the movie business, and dabbling with the rich & famous all of her life would do that). Rachael is more the girl-next-door type. Plus she likes beer. _________________

I totally agree! I would love to party with Rachel as long as she cooks the food. Giada can come along with some of her Italian stuff and offer herself as eye-candy, but Rachel is definitely the fun one! Sandra Lee annoys me when everything on the table and on the set matches whatever the theme for the show is. Yuck! It's a bit much.
I enjoy Alton Brown's Good Eats. The science of food stuff is kind of fun. We also watch Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I think Guy would be fun at a party too. So would Duff from Ace of Cakes! _________________ ...please teach me how to dream, I long to be more than a machine. |
