In the Pod People there was a sequence with the commentary that made me laugh so much I actually choked on some milk I was drinking. Can't wait til I have a wider spending budget so I can get some more DVDs from this awesome show. |

Downloaded a crystal clear version off the internet. Made a DVD. Watched the movie. Hated it. My wife through the DVD in our backyard. So its there if anyone wants it. |

I dunno... a new "Batman" movie would've been pretty much guaranteed to be a big hit (and crush the competition on its opening weekend) anyway. The previous Batman film was a critical and box office success and from the reviews I've read, the new one tops it, even without factoring in Heath Ledger's death...Although I'm sure the Heath Ledger thing hasn't hurt it. Nothin' sells tickets like a dead guy. Look at "The Crow." That probably would've passed unnoticed like any other B-Movie if Brandon Lee hadn't been killed during filming.
Back on topic: My son and I watched "The Simpsons Movie" on HBO last night. (2nd time for me.) A lot of the humor went over his head of course (he's only five), but the scenes of Homer getting hit in the crotch, things landing on his head, crushed between heavy objects, etc., etc. are ageless. |
Homer is such a good character, that the "easiest humor" to come up with he can make ten times funnier. |

| I watched Fracture the other night. Anthony Hopkins is probably one of my favorite actors, specially for what he did on Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal.
His acting is always flawless as usual, and the movie had a great start but they simply could not keep up with the story. Not a bad movie but it could be better. |

The Dark Knight, first one was better IMO, I think Heath Ledger did one helluva job. Dent... eh.

Babe. I walked into a room full of pot-smokers, and for some reason I ended up watching this movie with them. The mice scare me.

| I liked AE as Dent/Two Face easily the best out of the Dark Knight cast..
Other than that, it's almost time to watch 'Kairo' again. |

I also caught Hancock last week which was pretty good, but if you're thinking about seeing it, wait to rent on video or PPV.
I also watched Batman Begins with my parents while down in FL, because they've never seen it, so my mom bought it.

| Watching one now that is just blowing me away.
It's a French flick called "Inside". The two main actresses are just superb.
Here's the basic plot:
It's Christmas Eve and a young women is due to give birth the next day. Various friends offer to stay with her and/or invite her to Christmas Eve parties. Stupidly, she decides she'd rather go home by herself.
A woman who seems to know a lot about this girl, starts terrorizing her; ringing the doorbell, peering in through the windows, etc.
The girl calls the cops who find nothing so she goes to bed. But the woman has gained entrance to the girls home.
This flick features great acting, great cinematography, ominous music and a lot of gore.
Right up the Toho alley!

Still my fave Arnie movie. Love that scene towards the end where the Predator just beats the livin' crap out of him for a couple of minutes... you almost think Arnold's gonna lose for a little while there!!

Great scene....a rare one in which such a huge and "manly" lead character is so scared and "on the ropes".
I also like the "primal scream" when Arnie invites the Predator to come get him.

It's only a "short film", though, as it's a half hour long. |

| 10,000 BC - saw it with the girls....saw it at the movies as well. It's O.K. Some good scenes, some cheesy ones as well.

Finished this one today. Really disturbing. And given all the gory, splatter-filled crap I watch, that should tell you something.
The two female leads are simply awesome. The female psycho is just spot on. Great horror-thriller for those with strong stomachs who also want quality film making.

Excellent "heist" film with some espionage elements. Very well written & directed, fast paced...nice balance of suspense, tension and some comedic touches. |
