I was raised on the Revised Standard translation; and my study Bible with all my notes and stuff in it is also a Revised Standard. But if I had to start over I'd pick the King James. To me that poetic olde language carries so much tradition that it's irreplaceable. Of course I might not feel that way if I was trying to read it for the first time.
What do you use? RSV, KJV, Modern Language, Good News, other? Just curious. study

Actually I cheat, I've got a "parallel Bible" with four different versions. It's too big to haul around though, I have it on a dictionary stand. I haul around the King James.

I made up my own religion, so I wrote my own. It's only about 6 pages.

its too bad thought the KJV of today really isnt the version that was done in 1611. There is a publisher out there who's name escapes me at the moment that publishes the KJV as it originally appeared in 1611 with alternate line translations and all. Its kinda neat to see all origninal spellings and such.

I grew up with the NIV so it's what I know. I do like the NKJV but the original was commissioned by a pederast.
