I could go on but you get the idea. Wow, was 1984 one of the best years EVER for hard rock/metal or what??

Hey, I graduated in 84. It was a great year...lol.

Freddy, for me it's my favorite year EVER in music history. A lot of that had to do with the fact that I was 13, and my musical tastes were expanding. I was still into stuff that was on the radio (I hate to call it pop, but I guess that's what it was), but the metal scene was amazing.

That WAS an awesome year! I was a freshman/sophmore in High School and you can't beat the music that was released that year!!!!!

Awesome Year I was 14 in 1984 and like Freddy I bought most of these as new releases, excuse I have to go grab my walker.

I was only 9 and not much into music yet.

I was 10 years that year, and had alreasy been a metalhead for 4 years!

Very true Spec, to me personally 1984 was more important to me because I was 14 and I was discovering a brand new world of music.

That was a great year and i'm not old *cough, wheeze, hack, spit*.

Coincidentally, I picked up Van Halen's 1984 last week (other than 'Jump' and 'Hot For Teacher', I didn't know the album at all). It's one hell of an album, if a bit cheesy synth-heavy.

Van Halen releasing 1984 is enough for me to say it was one of the greatest years in music.
