Allright Allright. I know I was a little aggressive towards hair metal. I was sorta in a bad mood at the time trying to get my freaking Avatar to show up. But as I said earlier, not all hair metal is bad. And yes, Van Halen did turn a little Top 40. I mean for God's sake, Eddie did the friggin' solo for Beat It. But guys cool down. Anyway man, about what somebody (I forget who it was) said that the first 5 were the best. Sorry, but the order it's in is the order of bests for me. But grats on Maiden being higher than anyone else (whoch suprises me because on the internet EVERYBODY likes Metallica best). But anyways, sorry.

Don't know about the best (after all, it's relative to one's own taste) but of those these are my favorite 5:

1. Iron Maiden
2. Judas Preist
3. pre-Load Metallica
4. Symphony X
5. Dream Theater (at one time they would have been #2 here but times have changed-though I have finally warmed up to Systematic Chaos)

They are not listed but Savatage is a close second to Maiden (although for me nobody will probably ever top Maiden).

Dream Theatre is definately on the top of that list followed by metallica, slayer, cannibal corpse and judas priest for good measure. Petrucci is a genius. Too bad Mastadon wasnt on that list...

1. Metallica (Love or hate 'em they seem to bring a lot of discussion to the table)
2. Judas Priest (Rob, K.K & Glenn, enough said...oh and longevity)
3. Megadeth (This was the reason the Metal Gods ousted Dave from Metallica)
4. Anthrax (One usually can't say this about a band when they just announced their 4th lead singer!)
5. Black Sabbath (Some great lead vocals from the likes of the Oz man, Dio, Gillan, & Hughes) Ozzy & Dio have had unbelievable solo careers since, what else is there to say?
