| I really like death metal, if it's done right. I don't get into the plethora of gore bands out there - as I find much of that stuff to be quite generic in sound. But I do like a good dose of a band that knows how to play their stuff. My favorites are INPO: Death (early stuff was DM) Obituary Pestilence Nile Mortification (early stuff was DM) Behemoth Morbid Angel How about you? |

| Death, Pestilence, Moritification, Ethereal Scourge, Carcass, Soul Embraced, mid-Living Sacrifice, Amorphis, early Sentenced, Arch Enemy, Children Of Bodom, Becoming The Archetype, Paramacium, Metonia, Bolt Thrower, old Soilwork, Daath (a new band), Opeth (althoug a death/progressive hybrid), doom/death (i.e. old Paradise Lost, Anathema, early goth metal bands), and Obituary.
Back in the day I used to listen to just about any death band (Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Morbid Angel, Opressor, Suffocation, etc.) but I soon grew tired of the blood, gore, and satanic aspects even before I became a Christian. So these days I listen to death bands with either Christian or neutral lyrics. Oh, even though I don't like the plethora of cussing I do like me some Strapping Young Lad. _________________

| Oh good calls on: Arch Enemy Ethereal Scourge and Opeth! I like all those bands quite well! Another two I'll add: Dark Tranquility Nightrage I like the melodic death stuff pretty much too. _________________

I just realized (due to the stupid band name and my grammatical over site) how wrong that might sound. Good thing Townsend didn't put an 's' at the end the name _________________

| Amorphis - Tales from the Thousand Lakes is still one of my favorites. Great album.
My favorite Metanoia album is their first album "In Darkness or In Light". I like the combination of classic metal and death metal that disappeared on future releases.
Death still rank as one of my favorite Death Metal bands.
Mortification's "Scrolls of the Megilloth" is a another of my favorites.
Carcass, Gorefest, Crimson Thorn...
I rarely listen to much death metal any more though. I grew bored with it. The vocalists and songs all just started sounding the same to me. _________________

they are an awesome christian doom/death band. they have more in common with early Anathema & My Dying Bride though. _________________

They have like operitic female vocals, right? But are they real heavy(i like the heavier music) and death too, or just the opera vocals? _________________ "REMOVE THE HEAD, REMOVE THE SOUL, DEHUMINIZE. NOOOO!!" |

The mix female operatic vocals and deep, death metal growls. It depends which album you get though. "Ancient Forest" and "Exhumed of the Earth" are albums that combine the symphonic stuff with doom and death metal. The "Repentance" EP is just straight up death metal. "Echoes from the Ground" is a stunning, more traditional, doom metal album.

| Bolt Thrower is a band I haven't heard in a while.
I also like the simplistic, death metal of Six Feet Under. Their cover CDs are a hoot. _________________
