| I found an old pic I took of my cassette demo collection, so I figured I'd post it in a new thread. I took a few new pics, too, of some of the newer demos I've gotten.
My collection is probably not as impressive as others, but I've got some cool tapes.

Static is Static-X before they changed their name. That's their one demo. Sean Downdell & His Friends is a band that later became Grey Daze. Chester from Linkin Park was in this band. Those are System Of A Down's first three demos, all self-titled. There's also a repressing of that third demo, which was the demo that spawned the modern day street team. Something like 150,000 copies were given away. But only 500 were made of the first pressing. The first two were also strictly limited to 500.

These are my most recent. Scott sings in clean tones on that demo! You should incorporate that into some tunes again, man.

And that's the entire collection. Therion is not the Therion we all know. This is a UK thrash band with the same name. Most of them, however, are local bands from various places I lived. _________________ "Happy people have no stories." —Therapy?

| Cool. I have a few left. I sold off a ton of my cassette demos back in the day to raise some money to record "Mechanics of Perilous Times". I still have some of my favorites left though. I'll have to see what I have.
"Fatal Delay" is a pretty rare demo. We only pressed up 500 of them and most of them were never even sold or sent out to review.

| I'm down to only one. Others have been sold/traded over the years.

Branestem - Killed By Fear. (very raw demo - brutal early 90's Death Metal 4 songs) _________________ I'm warning you. I'll be forced to Thrash you!

| Years ago, there was a used shop near me called Music Heaven. It was a cool little shop, but the guy that owned it was old and he was out of touch with reality. For years—I'm talking ten plus years here—he had a Babylon A.D. promo CD priced at $7.99. It wasn't worth that much. It had like a live song and a remix on it. Eventually I found it elsewhere for like $0.50, but he never budged. I'd always ask, and it became sort of a joke between us. But still, he'd never go below $7.99. Lame.
There was also a small cubby way at the back of the store, down on the ground, that had about 50 cassette demos in it. Most looked like death metal bands, and none of them I'd ever heard of. But they were literally all priced at $15.99 and up! INSANE! Even after they stopped making cassettes, this guy wouldn't lower his prices. He even had some old cassette bootlegs priced that high! Nonsense. Anyway, I would always offer him like $2 a piece. I just wanted to buy the lot and hope for something good. But nope, he wouldn't sell.
He went out of business a few years back. Presumably, he still has this crap in his garage, refusing to sell. Haha. _________________ "Happy people have no stories." —Therapy?

Yes, but you have the rarest of all Ultimatum demo cassettes. That 6 song Symphonic demo. Only 50 were pressed and all 50 were sent out to record companies and magazines. _________________

Some of them are great! I use to own hundreds of cassette demos, but only kept this handful of ones I really, really like. I wish with everything I have that I would not have sold two though, the Heathens Rage demo and the Immortal demo. Both fetched good money, but I really miss them.
Angelic Force is really rare. I'm sure it would fetch a few bucks on Ebay. I've had offers of $100 for it. This is the band that Robert Gutierrez of Ultimatum was part of in the 80's. _________________

| Hey Ult: I have some other demo stuff by Towne Cryer, Ron and Gina were great folks, havn't seen them since they moved to Nashville in the early 90's. It's amazing how alot of folks I grew up with who are still alive became christians, and christian metal heads at that. Take Care bro Laterz |

| I will have to go digging in my closet to find whatever is left of my demo-tape stash. I got quite a few of them when I was reviewing music for my college newspaper but since many demos were duplicated on cheap-o cassette tapes, a lot of those got eaten by my various car stereos over the years.
One long-lost demo I used to have that I'd like to hear again, was by a thrash band called "Machine" from New York City. I forget how many songs were on it but it had a really killer track on it called "Mechanikill." I saw them a couple of times at L'amour in Brooklyn back in the late 80s/early 90s (opening for Overkill and also for Savatage, if memory serves), and I bought the tape from them at one of those shows. That demo has gotta be out there on the world wide Interweb somewhere but I haven't found it yet!! _________________

| Demos...bah, who needs em! LOL! I have literally hundreds of them... Scott, did I ever send you a copy of the Heathen's Rage demos that I ripped to CD? I made one for you, but I don't remember if I sent it or not. Let me know...
