I have always been a huge fan of Talking Head's Stop Making Sense. The movie is also awesome. And, oddly enough, I enjoy Depeche Mode's "101". Since their sound is mostly electronic, you would not think they would sound all that different live. However, this 1988 (year of my HS graduation!) double live album actually brings a humanity to all the bleeps and tweeks.

Yes - Keys to Ascension..probably my favorite of the Yes live offerings, but much less known than the 30th anniversary and all of that.

Freedom Call - Live Invasion... it's more recent, but the sound is huge, the playing is unedited, and the crowd is ALWAYS there.

One of the great live albums of all time, and the 9 minute version of " I Don't need no Doctor' is classic, and it is hard to believe that Peter Frampton ever played on album this heavy and raw.
