| i play drums in the band ashes of gomorrah, we just formed and have been working on a demo. my band mates like to say we play black metal (they are cradle of filth diehards) but we actually play somewhere in between thrash and modern metal.
and i am writing materal for my brother and i, power/thrash style with a bit of progressiveness. |

Every name ever is going to have like 30 more other bands named the same thing.
They wanted to call it Audiogasm, but i hate that name.

| I don't play in a band, but I am very related with bands.
I am journalist specialized in metal, I write cd reviews, and interview bands and cover shows (when time permit).
Due metal is a big word and includes many styles, I prefer write about melodic hard rock, hair metal, glam, AOR and meoldic metal. But everytime I get things more extreme, and I have to review them as well.
I did almost everything related in music business but I never played in a band, I tryied once in a banda kind of RATM.
By the way, if you have a cd and you want to me review it, I will give you my info.
I don't like mix too much my profesion with my hobbie as collector, but they are related sometimes.

I believe Rat Skates and DD Verni of Overkill still own the copyright on that name, so you'd have to pay them some royalty money. "The Lubricunts" was their high school punk band pre-Overkill.

Stop by your local music store and ask if they have a notebook that they keep track of local musicians who are looking to start bands. If they don't encourage them to start one. It's a great way to get people with similar tastes and interests together, and it benefits the music store because people in bands will spend more on gear.
If they have no interest in that idea, just make up a flyer that has your basic information and post it around town. Include your name and phone mumber, but also your skill level and experience, influences and genre that you are interested in and see who might bite on that. Passing out or posting those flyers at that other bands gigs could yeild results. |

Thanks for the tip, thats a good idea. I play bass and my friend plays lead. We could probably rope in some other people with what you said. |

| I'm a 37yr-old pro drummer. I've been playing since 7, pro since 16.
I've been in many bands either as a full-timer or as a sub. My main band att is Frustated, Inc. and we do covers from rock to metal, though more h/r/metal than straight rock. I'm currently also getting another h/r/metal cover band together playing everything from Manowar, Helloween, Maiden, to Poison. Mainly 80's and 90's with maybe a newer song thrown in. This band's name is Sin Trigger. |
