Ok I know Krokus weren't the most talented or original band that came out on the rock scene But who cares what matters is there are some catchy tunes on this album that get you singing and headbanging isn't that what 80's rock all about catchy tunes, singable choruses and crunchy riffs. This album was the first mainstream album that did loose some of their die hard metal audience just like what happened when MetallicA released their black album. Anyway there are some good Krokus songs like Our Love (will never die), Rock the Nation, Hot Stuff and their cover of The Sweets Ballroom blitz. If you are an 80's metal lover then go and buy this album However if you are a rock purist approach with caution.

My belief is they made a wrong turn here. After plugging along to get recognition in America begining with "One Vice At A Time" and then making a statement with "Headhunter"... well they listened to the wrong advice and put this out. I like songs from "The Blitz".....but they lost thier balls so to speak. My take on it was they wanted to be an MTV band and not a metal band anymore. _________________

| I'm with James. "One Vice At A Time" and "Headhunter" were great heavy metal records. With "The Blitz" the band went from being known as a serious heavy metal band to somewhat of a novelty joke. It's not a terrible record, but it's far from their best. I do agree that "what matters is there are some catchy tunes on this album that get you singing and headbanging". I get tired of everyone putting bands down who aren't "unique". If a great jazz musician plays great jazz, are they accused of being "unoriginal" or "unispired"? If a classical musician records a Beethoven symphony, are they accused of being "unoriginal" and "not talented". Why shouldn't this same measure be used for heavy metal. If a band like Avenger of Blood is playing great thrash metal, why do people put them down because they are not playing some new hybrid of styles? Why are they accused of being "unoriginal"? Same holds true for Krokus. Back in the day they were accused of being AC/DC clones, but they never truly were. They were just a fun rock and roll band. And now I will get off my soapbox. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

I really dig "The Blitz". The musical climate changed in the mid-80's. Gritty AC/DC rock wasn't the name of the game, so Krokus changed direction a bit. It doesn't mean it's a bad record, just different. "Change of Address" was the only questionable (but still enjoyable) Krokus output in the 80's, IMO.

I am with Brian on this one. The times they were a changin' and so did a lot of bands. I like this album, though; Our Love and Midnite Maniac are great tunes to my ears. Peace.

I agree with Spec. Change of Address was pretty bad (comparatively speaking) but the Blitz was good. Midnite Maniac ,the Ballroom Blitz cover,Rock the Nation, and Ready to Rock are all good tunes.

I thought 'The Blitz' had a few good tunes but not favorite Krokus release. The album does contain 'Midnight Maniac' which always thought had a catchy little riff.
