| I like DM, although I find this to be one of the weaker Met albums lyrically. I also feel that the songs are too redundant but they have some good riffs and Kirk returns to his cut & paste soloing. |

| St. Anger-I heard Metallica was going back to a more aggressive sound but I thought, "I'll believe it when I hear it". So I sampled the album on the internet and while it was more aggressive it sounded like what it was, an old thrash band trying to go back to their roots but forgetting how and half assing it to boot. Also the production was so horrible with the tin can pounding that I could barely get past it to hear the music. Never got the album and unless I find it dirt cheap, probably never will.
Death Magnetic-If it wasn't for the preview I got in a thread here, I would have not given this one a chance but I was suprised that I liked what I heard. I picked it up at Wal-Mart on chance and ended up loving the entire album (the only song that is lackluster for me is the instrumental). This time they went back to their roots and made a real effort to do so unlike the turd in the punch bowl. Metallica had finally regained me as a fan and I hope that this is a sign of things to come. Favoirte songs are every single song less Suicide & Redemtion (which is not too terrible but when I listen to it I find myself relagating it to background music-it's just too dang long). |

Sure, you can't see the band half the time, but it's cool to see such an early version of this cover. |

| Death Magnetic was a great album. The lyrics were stupid, and the production was bad, but the compositions were great. |

| I just now decided to buy the album and give it a full listen on my 2 hour drive back from my girlfriends house (as of last weekend or so). Initially I gave a few things on youtube a few plays but for some reason didn't really give it the attention to do an actual decent listen through.
This sounds like Justice For All mixed with Black mixed with parts of Re-Load all put into a blender with the yield being positive.
Favorite tracks: Broken, Beat, and Scarred and Judas Kiss
(FYI: is it me, or does the chorus for Judas Kiss seem like it would be GREAT if sung by Dave Mustaine?) |

| Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets are all I'll ever need.
...And Justice for All is okay, but some of the songs go on far too damn long, and the production is just horrid. I would much rather stick two blender wands through my ears rather than hear that one again. |

| ive gotta say that i love metallica, for me they are that band that cant do anything wrong! i got into them after i heard enter sandman at a friends house and went home and begged my mum to lend me the money to go out and buy it on tape! and then preceeded to buy the rest of the back catalogue! i love the feel and energy of a metallica song but i also admire them for pushing the boundries of their music. my fave album would have to be and justice for all... |

| Listening back to Metallica sure brings a lot of memories. Back home, in the Philippines, Heavy Metal records were hard to come by. Me and a friend used to tape metal songs off the radio (piracy back then) back in '94 since record stores didn't really sell heavy metal records. I remember a local radio station used to play Metallica classics such as "Battery" and "Hit the Lights" and we would play these all day & night. We even traded some of these tapes for tape recordings of some of their obscure songs like "Phantom Lord" and "Jump in the Fire" (by obscure I mean that it didn't get much airplay on the radio). It is also through recording and trading tapes that I met other heavy/thrash metal fans who, in turn, introduced me to other thrash metal bands like megadeth, anthrax, slayer, overkill, etc.. So in a way, metallica is, was, and will always be the reason why I became a metalhead. HAIL!

| Thanks for reading and what a great community you have here.
BTW, my favorite Metallica album has got to be "...And Justice For All. This is not to say that the other previous one's are not top-notch either, however, in AJFA, Metallica really took it to a new level. They toned their speed a bit making it tasteful, made their songs heavier, and allowed the melody of the song to really grab you in. From the heavy number "Harvester of Sorrow" to the speedy ones "Dyer's Eve" and especially the progressive ones "...And Justice for All", it is no doubt Metallica at their best. |

| I was never a big fan of Metallica, i like their 80's albums and think they're very good but everything they did after the Black Album was uninteresting to me. I don't know how i got to learn to Metallica, they were never played on the Radio (We don't even have a Metal radio station here. I think the first time i heard them, was during a ECW (wrestling) show with Sandman who used Enter Sandman, some time later Sting from the WCW started to use Seek and Destroy and that's one of my favourite songs from them. Master of Puppets is of course a awesome album and as other said, Orion is a great instrumental. |

| I will do the review of 'Lulu' the greatest album ever recorded by a 70 year old!!! I still have not purchased the album, despite me defending it, I heard a few tunes on it, some are good, others are beat like spoken word Kerouac wanna be musings, and I wonder what they slipped in Lou Reed's metamucil for some of the tracks on that disc.
But I am the lone(ly) Lou Reed fanboy on this board. |

| I don't blame Lou Reed for LuLu's failure. I blame Metallica...the WORST "jam band" in the history of the world. Lou needed a band that can improvise, Metallica is the exact opposite of that.

I will give you that, but Lou Reed wanted Metallica, IMO Lou Reed made a mistake of trying to morph the band into a modern version of the Velvet Underground. |
