This is one of my all time favorite bands. I much prefer this band over Tobias' other main band Edguy.

What are your favorite albums?

I was just cranking the latest EP compilation, "Lost in Space (Part 1 & 2)" while doing some yard work today. Great stuff!

My favorite is easily "The Scarecrow" though. That album just slays from start to finish!

I don't know if you can really call it a 'band', but yeah, Avantasia has only good releases thus far. The first Metal Opera is my favourite. Sign of the Cross and Avantasia are their best songs, in my opinion.

I have almost all their stuff. I'm only missing their first one. "The Metal Opera Pt. 1". I need to acquire that one.

I liked The Scarecrow, haven't heard either Metal Opera, outside of a few samples. I wasn't really impressed by it, but I'm looking forward to the new release.

I like everything. But Tobias changed the sound on "The Scarecrow" so much, it is almost like a different "band". I love the first 2, and the debut is a favorite.

Still have not heard Scarecrow, but have the first two albums and like them both very much...
Some of metal`s finest vocalists on them.

Yeah, as far as 'projects' go ... this one is my favorite!

Out of the ones I've got I'd rank em as such:

1. The Scarecrow 10/10 (total majesty!!!)

2. The Metal Opera Pt II
3. Lost in Space (Pt 1 & 2)

I think I will order their first one tomorrow from Amazon! I gotta have it!!!

The best song Avantasia has is the 'The Toy Master' with Alice Cooper on the Scarecrow...

Looks like i have to get Scarecrow.
It gets a lot of praise here, i seem to remember it got some lukewarm reviews when it came out. But if the king says it`s good, I`m buying..

I like them all very much. I think I & II have very strong high points, but that Scarecrow is the strongest throughout.

In my opinion Jorne's best vocal performance ever is on Scarecrow.

Absolutly love this project. My first exposure was Metal Opera Pt. 2 and that album blew me into next week and stands as one of my favorite Euro-power metal albums ever. I've listened to that particular album too many times to mention. Part 1 I heard later and while I don't like it near as much it is still a fine piece of E-PM. Scarecrow, I think may be my favorite of all though (if not a very, very close second) and I've listened to that one more than any album in recent memory (the only album I think I've listened to more was Blind Guardian-Nightfall In Middle Earth). I hope Tobias keeps this project alive because I seem to like them more with each album (I definatly need to get a hold of the EPs).

Yeah, grab "Lost in Space (Pt. 1 & 2)" ... you won't be sorry. There are some KILLER cover songs on there. The two EPs have been issued as one album for a great price - so you just can't go wrong!!!

I picked up Scarecrow for next to nothing when Circuit City was going out of business. I wasn't real familair with the band, but the names and guest vocalists intrigued me.

I gave it some spins, but I didn't like it at all. There were a few songs that were ok, (the Alice Cooper one comes to mind) but overall it was too much "opera" for me and not enough metal. The whole thing came of as a bad Andrew Lloyd Weber musical. I traded it away to SpectreFate, who I think buried it in a time capsule in his back yard for future generations who might appreciate it more than us nitwits.

More power to ya if you like this stuff, but not my thing at all.
