You have to reach for it...I don't believe it's intentional...like Robert Plant saying "my sweet satan" when "Stairway..." is played backwards...people see/hear what they want. |
You forgot about playing Queen's 'Another One Bites The Dust' backwards - it says "It's Fun To Smoke Marajuana" |

| The Last In Line "But we'll sail on! sing a song! carry on 'cause we rock!" Dio again decides to open this one with an anthem, We Rock. Actually it looks like Dio reuses the formula he used on Holy Diver and improved on it. The keyboards were taken over by Claude Schnell who makes more atmosphere than was heard on Holy Diver in my opinion. The songs themselves I feel are a little better produced, heavier, thicker and faster then previous. More layers on the instruments provided a more epic atmosphere. Dio's usual cryptic songwriting is also in place. |

| An excellent album and is almost equal to 'Holy Diver". The title track is an excellent song, as is the epic track "Egyt The Chains are On", the only track I did not care for is 'We Rock' |

| Another essential Dio album. Great, infectious songs. 'Mystery' is like 'Rainbow in the Dark' pt 2. Everyone remembers that Last in Line video, but there was one for Mystery, too, which comprised of live footage complete with a castle and a mechanical dragon on stage!
This was my second Dio album right after Holy Diver, but for some odd reason I didn't love it immediately. I guess it was because I had just gotten Holy Diver and was comparing the two a bit too much.
Favourite songs: Last in Line, Egypt, One Night in the City
Doro did a great cover of Egypt (The Chains Are On). |

| Last In Line was my first exposure to DIO, so it holds a special place in my heart. It's a great album and I personally prefer it over Holy Diver, but on a musical level, this album pales in comparison to DIO's debut. |

| Last in Line, another brilliant slab of classic heavy metal! Those first two Dio albums are companions pieces. They work together so well IMO.
Saw Dio on this tour as well. Great show! He sold out the Philadelphia Spectrum. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Two classics in a row for Ronnie JD. THE LAST IN LINE is one of those albums that you just can't say anything bad about. On the other hand, the video for the title track... cheez to the extreme. Seriously, I love this song but I can barely make it thru this video without cracking up. Useless trivia: the kid in this video was a child actor named Meeno Peluce, who did a bunch of TV guest spots in the late 70s/early 80s and starred in a short lived series called "Voyagers." When I saw this video for the first time I was like "Whoa, that's the Voyagers kid!" I believe he was related to "Punky Brewster's" Soleil Moon Frye somehow or other. I forget if they were brother and sister, or cousins, or step brother and sister, whatever. The video was directed by B-movie legend Don Coscarelli of "Phantasm" and "Beastmaster" fame. _________________ "God's the ultimate playa, so naturally He's going to have some haters," rapper Ice Cube said. | OK, so I said in my write-up of 'Holy Diver' that Dio has never released a better album since, but 'The Last In Line' is surely not worse either! Opening with one of my all time favorite rock anthems, "We Rock", this is another heavy metal classic for sure. Ronnie's voice and Vivian's guitars are two ingredients that created the mold for 80's heavy metal. Metal back then was not about being the most brutal act, nor was it necessarily about the shock value. It was all about writing some great tunes. And Dio have delivered more memorable and catchy songs than most!
Killer tracks: We Rock, The Last In Line, One Night In The City, Mystery _________________ |

I agree. This album could easily have been called "Holy Diver II" and it would have made sense. "Sacred Heart", however, is a different story altogether. |

| My first Dio classic I got when I decided to fill out my discography. A great classic and many of the songs were new to me (on Holy Diver I heard all but 3 songs years before). Favorites are We Rock, The Last In Line, I Speed At Night, One Night In The City, Evil Eyes, Mystery (one of my all-time favorite Dio songs), and Egypt [The Chains Are On]. |

| Dio's third album Sacred Heart was released in 1985 and at this point he literally became a dragon slayer as he brought a giant mechanical dragon with him on tour! This was also the last album to feature Vivian Campbell who went on to.... "great things". The album starts off with the fake live song King of Rock N Roll. In the Stand Up and Shout Anthology Booklet Dio says he actually wrote this song about Ozzy, hard to believe. It is a great song and my favourite on the album. Rock N Roll Children and Hungry For Heaven sound pretty typical of the era, I think they're good songs regardless. I thought Just Another Day's sounds suspiciously like they were going for a song like Neon Knights So overall this was a pretty decent album, not quite up to the two that precede it but whatever, who cares? Its an above average album worthy of owning. |

| I agree this album is worthy of owning, but also not nearly as good as it's two predecessors. Probably the weakest Dio album of the 80s IMO. I actually think "Dream Evil" and "Lock Up the Wolves" are better too. But - I'm a Dio fanboy and he can do no wrong. |

| I like 'Scared Heart' and feel it is a stronger album than given credit but it is weighed down by feel filler tracks like 'Shoot Shoot' and some songs now sound very dated like 'Hungry for Heaven' and 'Rock n Roll Children', not Dio's best work and this maybe due to the internal conflicts within the band, when I saw Dio live on the tour, Campbell was already gone and Craig Goldy was on the guitar. Not a bad album but nowhere near as good as the first two releases. |
