| Don't own this one. Thought about it a few times, moreso to complete my Tesla discography than anything. Just not a big enough live-album fan I guess. Maybe someday I'll pick this up, but for now it seems kinda un-essential. Didn't know about that un-released 'Summer's Day' track though. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| I own it. Can't even tell you if I've ever listened to it, though. It's a discography filler for me. At least that's who I've always viewed it. But I also didn't even realize there's an exclusive track on it. Haha. Is it a cover? _________________ "Happy people have no stories" —Therapy? Shock Totem | The Eyesore Times | Getcha Rocks Off |

| Tesla-Into The Now (2004 Santuary Records) 01. Into the Now 02. Look @ Me 03. What A Shame 04. Heaven Nine Eleven 05. Words Can't Explain 06. Caught In a Dream 07. Miles Away 08. Mighty Mouse 09. Got No Glory 10. Come To Me 11. Recognize 12. Only You By now, musical climate is very different and so is Tesla. Some songs on this stay true to Tesla's sound / roots while others forskake that melodic hard rock in favor of a modern aggressive sound ? The results vary with mileage. They could of did without some vocal effects and the modern stlyle tunes don't impress me much. The best song on the cd "What A Shame" is Jeff Kieth in his element. Singing about something that is very real to him. In this case , a bitter seperation and subsequent divorce. The lyrics are very personal and quite honest. I know the situation well. Being that the woman he refers to in the song, is related to me. Overall, you can identify Tesla in the songs. Mostly due to Jeff Kieth's unique raspy vocal approach. The guitar payers have moments on the cd. But most of the time, the vibe of the lead playing clashes with the modern tone of the rhythm progression. Not to mention, it seems they struggled with some of the arrangements. I appreciate the attempt to be relevant but often times more than less... Things sound forced and have no flow to the completed work. That is the case here. _________________ |

| I remember when I heard a new Tesla album with Tommy Skeoch was coming out I was stoked. I read somewhere thereafter that Skeoch had all but abandoned his shred style for a more bluesy style of playing so that kinda bummed me out. Come release day I picked it up and was not all that impressed, I noticed a more modern sound and like James B. said an element of forcing things. Fave tracks are What A Shame & Miles Away. |

| I think they melded the modern sound with their sound pretty well. Pretty much at the bottom of the list of Tesla albums but I really like some of it and spin it fairly regularly. |

| I was just excited to hear that a new Tesla album was coming out, so I welcomed this comeback with open arms. The modern sound didn't bother me in the least bit. Some great songs on there and is still a frequent player for me. Another fine album in the Tesla discography. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| Yeah, there's definitely a modern sound, but they balance it well with their classic hard rock sound. Doesn't sound forced or too modern to my ears; sounds like a band using new technologies and tunings and influences and melding it perfectly to appeal to a younger generation without alienating longtime fans. Into the now, if you will.
That said, it's not a perfect record, particularly because of "Words Can't Explain" and "Caught In A Dream" and "Come To Me." Never been a fan of their mild rocker/ballads. "Only You," though, is fantastic.
"Heaven Nine Eleven" is my favorite track. _________________ "Happy people have no stories" —Therapy? Shock Totem | The Eyesore Times | Getcha Rocks Off |

| "Space Truckin" "Walk Away" "Hand Me Down World" 'Bad reputation" "Thank You" 'I've G'ot A Feeling" "Day Of The Eagle" "Ball Of Confusion" "Rock Bottom" "Stealin'" "Bell Bottom Blues" "Honkey Tonk Woman" "Dear Mr. Fantasy" First and foremost, I dig this alot! Being a child of that time, these songs are part of my musical heritage as well as the building block to my entrance into being a musician (even though I am merely a drummer) The first song is weak in that Jeff struggles with hitting some of the notes, still it isn't too bad. I commend that they went ahead and put it out. "Thank You" is a strong testament to both talent in the band and the emphasis that Zeppelin had on kids playing music i the 70's. I think that it is kewl that the version of "Rock Bottom" by UFO is from the "Strangers In The Night" and not the studio version. Some folks state that Frankie was the weak guitar player in Tesla but his playing of Schenker's licks on this is more than nough proof that the man can play guitar. The Stones cover is decent but it lacks the swagger that the original possessed. Though I think there isn't a bad tune on the cd, a bit more of diversity may have improved the concept. | Love this one and the follow-up disc. As I said many times before, I'm a sucker for a good covers/tribute album and being a huge Tesla fan, this one hit the mark perfectly. Love the song selection as well. Both discs really come off well. The band sounds like they're having fun with the songs that helped shape who they are as a band. 2 minor complaints though. 1.) the Stones cover. With such a huge catalog to choose from, I wish the guys woulda dug a little deeper for their choice of song to cover. 2.) [I'm jumping ahead here] 'War Pigs'. I understand that it's a timely cover with the war in Iraq and the lyrics ring just as true today as they did back in the 70's, but the band just doesn't have that gloom & doom attitude to pull it off. Both songs were nicley covered, but in my opinion, are 2 of the weaker tracks on an otherwise outstanding release. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| I thought they nailed most of the songs and was surprised how well they did Dear Mr. Fantasy. They showed some things about their playing. And I agree about War Pigs, that is the one on here that misses. |

| All The Young Dudes Make It Last Shooting Star Not Fragile Street Fighting Man Is It My Body I Want to Take You Higher Do You Feel Like We Do Beer Drinkers And hell Raisers Seasons Of Wither Satuday Night Special War Pigs I like this one better than the first mostly due to a more varied song selection. They could of gone a bit deeper with songs by Skynyrd and Sabbath. It's not like those tunes are already crammed down our throats by classic rock stations everywhere. I just hope that songs left over from these sessions make it on the constantly postponed boxset. The opener "All The Young Dudes", is a better choice than on disc one. The dirtier guitar tone during the chorus gives it that Tesla feel. Jeff pulls off a great performance vocally and the background vocals are done well. Great version of Montrose's "Make It Last" and then you come to BTO's "Not Fragile".... the Tesla Tandem pulls this off great and gives it a nice feel in the lead break and the closing. The inclusion of this particular Alice Cooper tune and Sly Stone gives this release some depth and takes away the generic choices made for covers by other bands. Thumbs up for doing the live version of Frampton's "Do You Feel Like We Do", similar to what they done on the previous disc with UFO. Kick @$$ versions of Aerosmith and ZZ top tunes close out the disc, leaving off with above mentioned Sabbath song. The lil quip of "Star Spangled Banner" in the intro makes quite the point. They have the music down decent enough but Jeff blows the vocals. _________________ |

| Love disc 2 just as much as disc 1. I pretty much always listen to both discs, one right after the other so it just feels like one long record. Or if I'm on the computer, I'll shuffle them both together, so I don't have a preference between the 2. Great selection on the Aerosmith tune. Nice to see them dig a little deeper on that one. And kudos for not just sticking to "classic rock" choices and covering some r&b and funkier stuff too. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| This is/was only an iTunes release in 2007 "I Love You" (Climax Blues Band) "Everything I Own" (Bread) "Signs" (non-acoustic version) "The Way It Is" (different arrangement/recording) "What You Give" (different arrangement/recording) "I'd Love To Change The World" (Ten Years After) "Silent Night" (instumental of Christmas Tune) Some of the left overs from the Real to Reel sessions appear here. I think they would of been better inclusions than the generic picks of songs by The Stones, Skynyrd, and Sabbath on those two previous releases. I havn't listened to this for awhile and I can't recall much of a big deal about the redone Tesla songs. The electric "Signs" is kinda kewl cause it varies from the version that radio throws down your neck. The two selling points are the last two tracks. The guitar tone on "...Change The World" is sweet. Frankie does a great job with "Silent Night" I have no ideal if iTunes is still slinging this or not ? I had this given to me as a gift of friendship via non downloadable format. aka CDR. _________________ |

| I made a cdr of this one as well that someone was kind enough to upload for me. That's the first time I saw the image cover though. Didn't know artwork for this one existed. Once again, nice choice of tunes to cover. I read that the band learned the song 'I Love You' to play at one of the band member's wedding (Jeff's?) and they ended up putting it on tape. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

| Tesla-Forever More (2008 Tesla Electric Co. Recordings) Forever More I Wanna Live One Day At A Time So What ! Just In Case Fallin' Apart Breakin' Free All Of Me The First Time Pvt. Ledbetter In A Hole Again The Game I like this better than the last original studio lp. The title track has that kewl build up in the begining that Tesla is known for. It does go into something different than usual. The guitar tone is very modern and the vocal effect takes away from the presentation of the music. The next few tunes stay on that modern guitar tone and vocal approach. "So What!" would of been so better if done in the late 80's style. The next three tunes, "Just In Case", "Fallin' Apart", and "Breakin' Free" are the highlights of the album. These songs are very, very personal. In fact the entire lp has that distinction. Each tune though kinda/sorta very melodic in content. All have a guitar solo that is of a different vibe. The slide work by Frankie in the second break of "Fallin' Apart" has a sweet tone that would make his ol' lady's daddy smile. "Breakin' Free" is the BEST tune on the lp. The guitar hook at the begining is amazing and it goes into a pretty damn sweet groove. The next song to stand out is "Pvt. Lebetter", I have been told that this is a leftover from "Psychotic Supper". It is the only song on the album that has that old Tesla vibe all the way through. The last two tunes are the most interesting. The upfront bass at the begining of "In A Hole Again" puts a nice flavor to the arrangement. The modern feel on this song works best, as opposed to the others on the album. "The Game" is the last song. It has so much 70's written all over it that even the modern tone and vibe can't hide it very good. This is the end of this. Below is listed the songs on various comps and soudtracks that are exclusive to those releases or non lp B sides. Love In Vain (previously unreleased/Rolling Stones cover) I Ain't Superstitious (non lp B side/Jeff Beck Group cover) Rock The Nation (non lp B side/Montrose cover) Children's Heritage (non lp B side/Bloodrock cover) Cotton Fields (non lp B side/CCR cover) Last Action Hero (movie soundtrack) Steppin' Over (Time'sakin Changes exclusive track) The Ocean (Zeppelin cover/Jap version of Bust a Nut) Laterz everyone ! | Yet another fine album in a long list of great music from Tesla. Bought this one on the day of release. Not a band tune in the bunch as far as I'm concerned. Old school, modern elements, whatever. It's a Tesla album! A great band that I'm looking forward to hearing many more things from. Hopefully they'll clear up all the red tape that is mucking up the box set release. Nice job on the discography, James. Any thoughts on the Bar 7 World Is A Freak album? It's practically a Tesla album anyway, why not throw that in here? Frankie had Kaleidoscope and now has Frank Hannon Band playing alot local wise between Tesla's on/off tour schedule. Of course, there is Guitarz from Marz.
