Well hell. This is going to be the first Maiden album I've bought on the release date since Fear Of The Dark....

This GH came recommended from MB and we made a deal he'll get a Megadeth GH and I get an Iron Maiden one heh

I didn't like El Dorado but I'm liking the title track. It seems like Iron Maiden's going in more of a hard rock direction with their new album. That's completely cool with me considering I'm not that much of a metal fan anymore. I'm looking forward to the album.

I still like El Dorado, I think you guys are too picky.

The problem with Maiden nowadays is not the songs themselves, but the crappy production. The songs sound good, but if they sounded more tighter, and didn't have Kevin Shirley's famous muddy quality sound, they would be a lot better.

Steve must really like Shirley's production. I don't think it's the greatest but it doesn't bother me.

What a perfect album. The only "reunion" album that comes close to The X-Factor is AMoLaD imo. The Unbeliever is a killer song too.

Agreed if that one is replaced by 'BNW', most of the stuff on 'AMOLAD' just sounded wayyyy too much like other Maiden stuff for me...and then even some of the stuff which didn't as much like 'Different World' I found irritating....I don't think they pull off that kind of song too well, but yeah..

The music to Sign Of The Cross is killer...but the lyrics? That has to be one of the most blatant, cliche-ridden hack jobs...even worse than Quest For Fire.

It's just movie titles strung together.

Has Paul Di'Anno ever been invited to perform with Maiden since Bruce has been in the band, even just for a song or 2, maybe an encore? Is there still bad blood between Paul and the rest of Maiden?

Someone posted the a version of the song "The Final Frontier" with out the sound effects. I am loving this song!!!! Can't wait for the album!!!!

OK - so the above song was recorded for XM, hence why it is compressed to hell - I am sure Detuned would notice that right away. I could tell it sounded much more compressed than "El Dorado"
