Quote:

"Wow! Typically (and historically) speaking, a new STRYPER record comes out every 2-3 years.

"I'm
pleased to announce shocking news — we are starting pre-production at
the end of February (of this year) and we begin recording the second
week of March (of this year)! We will have a new record completed by
early May 2010 and we will be planning for a release later in the
year!!!

"I don't want to say too much at this time but I will
write an update by next week describing what we're going to do and I
can tell you this — it won't be what anyone expects and it will show a
completely different side to STRYPER that the world has never heard before.

"Let the controversy begin...

"The band is incredibly excited about this project and the label is equally as excited...

"Great things ahead!"

This is not good news.... at all. Why would they change now the fans are finally satisfied again?

So are they going to get really soft or try to sound really modern?

I'd wager on something more aggressive

Robert wasn't missing in action for the last lp just cause he was busy with re-recording Bill's older stuff.

I think Mike Sweet could pull off a thrash vocal style. There were singers in the begining of the thrash movement that did the thing in the upper register. Though writing a thrash style song may not be an issue for him, a whole album may be more of a challenge.

My.02 and nothing more. Let's hope they don't do Industrial

How about another classic metal album like Against the Law? Stryper pulls off the Judas Priest/Van Halen style very well.

Not really a Stryper fan, but it's cool that they're trying something new. I hate it when bands stick to the same thing throughout their whole career, even if it's something good. Like I said, I don't really like them, but they've certainly kept it interesting.

I hated REBORN but i was happy with their last album but if now again they start playing modern s´hit, i will be betrayed by them for a second time. Then, i will send them to hell.

Soldiers Under Command, To Hell With the Devil, and Against the Law. The new one Murder by Pride is great too.

I hope it's something really heavy but with Michael's track record for leaning toward mellow stuff i don't know.

I love Stryper but if they're gonna go in a completely different direction, what's it really gonna sound like and will it really be appealing to their longtime fans? How many new fans do they really hope to gain by such a move in a new musical direction?
