That Hank Mobley album is one of my favorites. It's from 3 different sessions but still flows together nicely as an album. If you like the first 3 tracks I highly recommend getting this album as well, almost the same lineup...

Dark Moor - Autumnal

bumping this up to 3/5 stars...in terms of melody, great melodic
songs..there is some stuff here that is some of the best they've done.
There is some filler. Again the biggest complaint is WHERE is the
GUITAR? When Enrik solos it's great, no matter what. And his guitar has carried the 'Beyond the Sea' album well and shines on 'Tarot' also. Here his stuff is so dumbed down that I honestly can't find a reason why there should be rhythm guitar in many of the songs..if you stripped it down to vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keys...none of the orchestral flourishes (which are extremely well done), the blandness of the guitar would be astounding........argh.

Is this any good? I almost bought it in a used store a couple of years ago but the jewel case and booklet were splattered with some kind of sticky brown crap (spilled soda, I hope...) so I passed on it. I'd never heard of the band before but it looked like something that mighta been up my alley.

Besides, the album cover made me laugh Laughing

I've had this for years and couldn't remember anything about it. Exact is considering a copy from SACD so I said I'd give it a listen.

Considering it came out in 1991, it doesn't sound like anything else from that time. It's sort of a cross between the Led Zeppelin sounds of something like Bron Y Aur Stomp mixed with some Black Crowes with hints of Grand Funk Railroad. Sort of a retro sound with a southern rock/countryish vibe. Very different given the other music around that same time. Here's a quote from the Heavy Harmonies page that I pretty much sums it up:

Quote:
These guys have an interesting sound...it's kinda like if you were to put Great White and Kix in a blender, and throw in just a SMIDGE of country twang;very bluesy on some songs, with sleazy lyrics on others!

Sounds kinda weird/schizo to me... which means I'd probably dig it... haha. Oh well, who knows, maybe I'll stumble across another copy someday.

The most pop Kiss album. When Michael Bolton and Desmond Child receive writing credits on the album, it's not really a Kiss album IMO.

You have my sympathies.
