I'm all over the map with Celtic stuff. Some of it's "pure" Celtic with no rock at all (like Wicked Tinkers), some is a mix of Celtic with rock and prog leanings (like Horslips) and there's also Celtic punk stuff like Dropkick Murphys and Flatfoot 56.

I have a ton of this stuff so if you're looking to delve into Celtic, just let me know what you're looking for; odds are I have something to fit the bill.

I'll bite, too; celtic prog influenced stuff that isn't as usually boring as Iona is. Sorry but they are.

Check out Horslips (especially Book Of Invasions which is based on Celtic mythology and uses traditional Celtic folk songs as a base)

I like Horslips (need to get some of their stuff)

I like Dropkick Murphys (still need to get their stuff)

I like pretty much all I've heard in this genre.

Oh ... The Real McKenzies - you a fan Toho? Like what I've heard of them too.

I even like Iona (and do have a few albums), but I agree with Orion that they do get boring fast. Their first few albums are very good though. Beyond that - they lost me.

Thanks...oh, that reminds me..do you branch off into anything, uh, Welsh? I've been playing this ultra obscure album... Pererin - Haul Ar Yr Eira. Welsh folk mixed with classic prog rock........don't know entirely what I think of it yet, but it definitely isn't bad..

Flatfoot is very much in line with Dropkick Murphys, in fact they've even played the same bill at clubs and DM is very picky about the bands they play with.

so to the other person who likes Dark At Dawn, toho, if you don't have the 'First Beams of Light' re-recorded demo and other stuff CD, you aren't missing a whole bunch.... songwriting was not quite there yet...a couple songs I think are pretty good but mostly it kind of just flies by. But they felt the need to make a 'Dragon Tears Part II' which is a complete mess.....eh, it was $5..
