This is when Gamera movies became serious. Nice FX too.

I really like that one. They managed the rare feat of making Gamera look like a total badass.

Agreed. I like the two after this one even more.

hmmm..hard for me to imagine a Gamera film getting the.. 'serious' (read: awkward dated effects from the 90s which are technically better but help sap the fun from the series) treatment..

Everyone, Roland Emmerich has finally RECLAIMED his title as "WORST DIRECTOR ON THE PLANET"....this was stolen from him by Michael Bay over the past several years...but after watching the laughable excuse for a movie that is 2012...I decided Roland has finally topped the sh1t heap once more.

Congrats for helping to continually lower the standards! Way to go!

That seals it. An MB endorsement means this movie has to absolutely suck.

Although I could tell from the previews that I'd hate it. I can't stand FX-driven movies (unless the FX are gore)

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. It's actually not as bad as a lot of people say. It's just that it's overly childish and pales badly compared to the original trilogy, especially the first two movies. I've seen far worse Smile

"Dreamgirls" -- yeah, the musical with Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, etc. about the rise and fall of a '60s 'girl group' similar to the Supremes. I ususally don't care for musicals but y'know what? It was damned good!! Eddie Murphy was amazing as a James Brown style R&B singer, and I can see why Ms. Hudson nailed an Oscar for her performance. Good stuff.

Yeah I thought that was a pretty awesome film too. I still need to catch the 2 sequels.

Caught the Crazies last week and thought it was prety good. Zombie-like violent folk (similar to 28 Days Later) and an evil government. Can't really go wrong in my book.

Saw Shutter Island and Bad Lieutenant last week. Shutter Island is an absolute masterpiece, what a great film. Everyone should see it. It really is that good.

Bad Lieutenant started out weird, and my and my buddy actually thought of leaving because we didn't like it at all, but gradually it became pretty damn good. I can't stand Nic Cage, but he was pretty decent in it.

Is this a new version of the David Cronenberg classic?

It's a remake of George Romero's 70s version.
