He has gotten a little better over time...but he still has kind of an annoying tone. The band has serious chops though... |

Yeah, I can see where some might find his tone annoying. I still say he sounds like Mike Patton to my ears. |

| Mike will fit very well with these talented guys. I dont know why Shadows gets all this terrible singer criticism. The man never said he was a world class singer and he fits them very well IMO. Sure there are times when he comes across whiny but if you read that in interviews its meant to be that way.
The music and songwriting is top notch to me and that takes away most of what I find annoying |

The singer admitted that their biggest influence growing up was Metallica's Black album and Guns N' Roses. He even wears a bandana like his hero with the cop glasses.  |

| I'm such a huge fan of DT/Portnoy that I picked it up out of pure support.
Overall I find it to be alright: I own far worse albums -- some of the songs are catchy others I immediately skip.
It isn't something that I would listen to with much regularity, but as something to come across in a play list now and then to mix things up I can dig it. |
