I'm getting excited about this year's meet so I was checking out the Firefighter Olympics website and found these pics from last year's meet.



The end of the deadlift. That camel-toeing dude in blue is one of my lifting partners. These pics will be new to him, so I'm gonna have to give him crap for that. That tall, skinny dude next to him is another partner. He's actually as strong or stronger than me in most lifts. He's one of "those" people who are freaks. We lift "RAW" which means a belt only. No wraps, shirts or suits.


Coming up "out of the hole" on the squat.



I'm waiting in line with momma next to me. The Popeye-armed guy is the meet organizer and the young fella being congratulated was "best lifter." He's insanely strong. Benches over 400, deadlifted 600 or so, squats well into the 500s.

Does anyone else do powerlifting, weightlifting, strongman, etc...? Show some pics!

I was trying to post the one I used on my about the author (An Eye In Shadows) and about the editor on the recent Tabloid Purposes. I took this picture sometime in 2008 when I was at a movie premeire earlier that day. I am known to wear a Chicago White Sox hat and this picture I borrowed a lot from the hip hop subculture (since many of my readers listen to rap and metal -- some of them would listen to Rapcore.)

The photograph is in my photo album on myspace.com. There will be a picture of me, Wolf (Bloodstream Parade) and Ray R. Wise (Grigori 3) from the movie showing. I want to throw up the one with me of Dark Spectrum's Mike Spectrum and Mykil of Withering Soul but I don't want to be thrown off the board for being too obscene. I gave the photographer the middle finger.

If you want to see that one you're going to have to add me to your facebooks to see it. The photograph is my version of the one that Scott Waters has of D.D. Verni of Overkill giving the finger. I told Scott about this picture in a myspace comment, so he kind of knows a little bit about this one.

The photo that I have here is with Gothic magician and actor, Ronald Fitzgerald, and he's known for a special act he does on stage with a thing of razor blades during Marylin Manson's Sweet Dreams. I was suggesting to him to pull out Fear of the Dark by Iron Maiden when he does that act. Ron and I shared a table at Voltaire and we hung out during that show -- his movie Magus is an action / urban fantasy, has some nudity but has a lot of fight scenes.

Ron can be myspace'd too and he's got a facebook so go ahead and add him, tell him that Nick sent you.

This is the promotional picture used for NAKED SNAKE PRESS in 2006. I actually took this one from the old apartment too -- I am wearing a Jack Skellington t-shirt. I have two versions of this picture, but I want to get another one of these because the one I had got destroyed.

The book I am holding in the picture is the one that I published Donna Burgess in too as the lead author. I did a giveaway for Naked Snake Press at Gothicfest 2007 and I was trying to get ULTIMATUM for this one but it was tricky to get the bands for Jeff Swanson.

A friend of mine took this photo of an abandoned house. I think it's a great image to stir up some song lyrics.

Here's my newest kitty. She's a full breed Ragdoll. THE best cats on the planet. Also they hold guiness book of world record for 'largest house cat'.

She's just a baby though. 3 months. My other Ragdoll is 14 months - and he's already humongous!

Actually, once spring gets here I'll post pics of the flowers I planted last fall. The tulip bulbs I spent about 3 hours planting are already starting to come up.
