What are your top 10 favorite genres of metal? No non-metal in this thread.

Personally, I like pretty much every form of metal ... but my top 10 would be:

The label/genre' concept makes things more complicated than it needs to be. To me if the majority of a certain genre' you have heard falls short than you'll be second guessing yourself when you hear the label in regards to a band without ever listening to the songs.

Where I live, folks trip on me alot. One day I will have on a Grateful Dead tie-die and the then they'll see me in a Hirax or a KISS shirt some other time. I like what I like and the flavor of the music holds no merit to my ears.

To make a top 10, I'd just be throwing stuff in that wouldn't necessarily be a "favorite".

1 - European Power Metal (I use the word "flower" at times, but more in protest. I think it has a negative conotation I don't care for. When Metal "purists" snobs like ToB use the term, its derisive and should be taken as the jab that it is.)
2 - American Power Metal (Cage, Rob Rock,
3 - Folk/Viking/Pagan Metal (when it's not simply folkish Powermetal)
4 - Traditional Heavy Metal (Dio, Onward, Crescent Shield, maybe the entire NWOBHM thing...just Metal)
5 - Speed Metal
6 - Thrash Metal
7 - Glam/Hair Metal
8 - Melodic/Symphonic Black Metal
9 - Melodic Death Metal
10. Traditional Death Metal

I love all genres of heavy metal (not that I like every band, but there is good music within any genre). Other than Thrash and Death Metal being at the top there are bands within Traditional metal, Power Metal, etc that top my all time favorite band list, etc. Especially now when genres like Death Metal and Power Metal have quite a few subgenres to them. Good metal is good metal.
