I'm going to agree on this one too... great musicians, not so great band (although there are many die hard fans out there)

OH, horrible is not the word. But he is a way better player than the band in general.

He's definitely holding back...as were Torpey, Gilbert AND Kotzen...but that was kinda the point.

Some good ones mentioned here especially

Wes Borland in Limp Bizkit
Ryan Martinie from Mudvayne

as far as my choice I would most certainly say Herman Li and Sam T. from Dragonforce. Two amazing guitar players in a really bad band.

Sorry, I'm not big on Mr. Big either. If not horrible, at least mediocre in my book. But, I do agree the bass player is not bad.

Billy Sheehan is good but the guitarist Paul Gilbert (Racer X/Mr. Big) is above all of the others in talent.

I was letting that part slide. MB has a much broader taste in music than I but that flower metal stuff can sometimes impare his judgement.

LOL ... I realize most will disagree with me.

There are three bands I don't like - that all my friends seem to love.

Motorhead
Grave Digger
and
Megadeth

I love their music, but their vocals ruin it for me.

And Tommy Aldridge was in Motorhead briefly in 1992. I was in high school at the time.

Travis Barker (drummer) in Blink 182

Tom Morello in Audioslave or Rage Against the Machine (I happen to like Rage, not sure how everyone else feels).

Agreed on Wes Borland

I had the best post in this whole thread...none of these other examples are nearly as heinous and shocking as Tony Friedanelli being in Third Eye Blind...it's like Chris Impellitteri being in Everclear...

How about that? Apparently Tommy was hired as a session musician to play most of the drums on the March or Die album after Philty Taylor was fired, before Mickey Dee was hired.

The Heart of Metal. Ya learn something new everyday. Good job MB.
