Does anyone know Pharaoh? Vocalist is Tim Aymar, who also appeared on Control Denied - Fragile Art of Existence. They released three albums: After the Fire, The Longest Night, Be Gone.

I have After the Fire, but it's been awhile since I've listened to it. I've been meaning to break that one out again and give it a fresh spin since someone bumped that old thread Freddy mentioned.

Heh, I've just been listening to their first two albums the past couple of days.

They're a good band. Very Iron Maiden-ish. Aymar's got a great voice.

Didn't like Aymar in Control Denied...well, didn't much like that project in general, but Pharaoh is good. Still a bit much Sean Peck/Cage sound vocally, which is the same sound as (insert multiple bands), and tends to sound a bit forced to me (like..'ok guys..this is exactly how to sing to sound METALLLL!!') but I've been thinking about getting 'Be Gone'.

I gave After the Fire a few spins yesterday on the ride into work, and I gotta say it was kinda bland. Well, maybe bland isn't the right word, but unmemorable. I played it 4 times straight through and while it was mostly an enjoyable listen, I couldn't tell you when the disc ended and started over again. And when I did eject it, I couldn't remember a single tune or melody from it.

It's compentently played melodic American power metal, well produced and all that, but just doesn't stick out from the pack in any way for me. I have it with me and I'll give it another go, but I have a feeling this one is gonna wind up in the trade/sell pile next time I do a purge.

I have Be Gone, which I spin from time to time. Proper US power metal, but nothing really special.
