Imagika, while good ... kinda seemed a little generic to me.

And I'm a huge power / thrash kinda guy.

I'd check out Susperia if you're looking for this sound. Either that or newer Annihilator.

Ive come to the realization that I cannot stand most Power Metal like 99% and it was Imageka or whatever that helped me come to this realization

Ok.

Well that't the wrong band to make you realize that dude.

One of the worse examples of the genre right there.

Power metal is my all time favorite genre. There is soo much within it's realms.

And ... it is the most powerful of all metals!!!

Because it sounds like every other power metal band Ive ever heard they all sound the freakin same. I could care less if its the "Most powerful of all metals" Id lump Power Metal up there with Kings X and you know how much I just "Love" them. I dont think its a bad example as they sound just like most every other Power Metal band I've checked out (like I said) I know you swear your rocks by it MB but its not for me, not for me at all, I'll stick to my Deliverance, Megadeth and when the mood hits my AC/DC and Metallica, Remember you asked so I am not responsible for any reactions heh

Imagika is a pretty badass band and although they have some powerful moments are more in line with thrash then anything else. Thats what the band even considers themselves especially when being compared to Testament. Power Metal isnt for everyone and it is my favorite genre as well Metallic. Some people just dont like the cheese that comes with it.

Okay, so you are a fan of Autumn, Leaves' Eyes and Lacuna Coil?

All of these bands have strong elements of power metal in their structure.

That's what I'm saying. This genre isn't what you think it is. Stop bashing it.

They only sound the same to people who don't understand. It's like any genre, if you don't explore it, you'll never come to learn the differences between bands. And even if a band does sound similar to another, it's not a bad thing if the music is good (e.g. Airbourne).

First of all I am gonna say what I want. Secondly I never bashed Power Metal MB. Not ONCE!!!!! If you think what I said is bashing then you need to get some thicker skin. YOU had asked me why I did not like the genre, if you don't remember scroll back through this section you will see your post asking. I ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION is all I did, I could have said alot more but I was being honest and considerate of those who like the style. You cant expect everyone to agree with you. Hell you don't like Megadeth, ok its not a big deal to me. You've said stuff about Mustaine and his vocals did I jump your ass? Not once I didn't you're entitled to your opinion, Now let me have mine. Remember I did not offer my opinion you asked me why? I knew you would not like what I said but like I said I did not offer my opinion and that I was not responsible for your reaction when reading my answer. Even in your Power Metal thread I said it was not my cup of tea but more power to the fans. Go back and read it. If I cant state my opinions on stuff here then maybe I need to move on.

Autumn is more Goth sounding than anything else, hence the appeal, Same with Lacuna Coil but hell I dont even listen much to either anymore. You should know me better than that by now man, You should know I can find exceptions to most genres out there. My Answer was not bashing but if you took it as such I am not responsible for that and I will not apologize for how I feel.

It amazes me how gritty that womans voice is when singing. If I didnt know it I would of thought it was a man.

Addy I think there are a lot of bands in the power metal genre that would interest you. I just dont think the euro style fits well with you and even me. I like the more melodic almost melodic metal style like Nocturnal Rites and Excalion. Bands like Helloween, Gamma Ray, and Dragonforce do nothing for me.

Here are 2 examples of the more melodic side of it..

One of the most amazing songs I ever listened to..

Thats the kind of power I like....
