| Don't know if this band has been discussed here but if not - here we ago?
What do you guys think of the US metal legends Obsession? I love Mike Vescera as a vocalist and his take on Judas Priest-style metal in Obsession is amazing. Love the two first records - classic metal to the bone. Lot's of great headbangers and an amazing performance by Vescera.
Anyone heard their new album? What is that one like?
On a sidenote - what is the status of the Metal Mayhem reissues of Obsession material? I heard those are treated as bootlegs by the band - their myspace even says not to buy anything with the Metal Mayhem logo on it. Anybody has any info on that? I would love to know if I'm buying a bootleg before I invest heard-earned cash into it... |

| My Line Of Fire guitar player has the Metal Mayhem reissues...they look and sound good...they probably just did it without contacting the band...but they're not "bootleg" in the way that they look or sound bad... |

| "Methods to Madness" was excellent.
I bought their reunion album and didn't like it at all. |

| The first 2.5 albums were a BIG part of the soundtrack to my youth. Scarred for Life, plus Exxplorer - Symphonies of Steel, Zoetrope - Amnesty, Thor - Only the Strong, and the first 2 Tokyo Blade got played daily for a long time!! |

| I'd say the aforementioned reissues are not bootlegs (sites which are legitimate carry them), but the band was probably screwed over by the record label, from the sounds of things. I recall reading that was why Suicidal Tendencies re-recorded their debut. |

| Scarred For Life and Methods Of Madness are both great albums. I never got to see Obsession live but did see Mike sing with Loudness on the Soldier Of Fortune tour. |
