| Well, I finally got a new iPod, and this one's a good one -- 160 gb! Now, the thing about this is that my CD collection is only 15 gb. So, I'd like people just to list off their favorite artists in their respected genres, and I shall pick up their discography using my various resources (avoiding at all costs, of course, illegal downloading). I'm only going to say that I already have the complete discogs of Artch, Black Sabbath, Dio, and Iron Savior; otherwise, any artists are good by me. PS: I know there are probably more of these types of threads, but this one should be a massive compilation of the best artists out there. Thanks. |

| You just trusting anyone who posts in here? Well, ok. Not knowing your tastes but judging from the names dropped, I will stay on those sides of the spectrum and put together some stuff which fits that I find super essential for the respective bands and me.. let's see.... Rage (heavy/power/thrash) Secrets in a Weird World The Missing Link Black in Mind Running Wild (speed/heavy/power) Death or Glory Blazon Stone Masquerade Stormwitch (heavy/power) Walpurgis Night Tales of Terror Stronger Than Heaven Grave Digger (speed/power/heavy) Heart of Darkness Rheingold Ballads of a Hangman Gamma Ray (speed/power) Land of the Free Powerplant Blast from the Past (for the first CD, a bunch of their best songs are the older ones, but they are remade to perfection on this compilation) Labyrinth (neoclassicalish power/speed/progressive) Return to Heaven Denied Labyrinth Return to Heaven Denied II: A Midnight Autumn's Dream (not out yet, heard like two songs, but it's enough to heartily recommend) Dark at Dawn (heavy/power/slightly gothic) Baneful Skies Of Decay And Desire Dark At Dawn Winterborn (heavy/hard rock/power) Cold Reality Farewell to Saints what else you like? |

| Definetly Helloween! Just get everything you'll love it. Rage and Grave Digger too like OCI said but I like just about all of their albums. It really depends on what you like too unless you don't care at this point and just want to hear anything haha. I have a 160 gb Ipod too. Its almost full just make sure you keep the file sizes down so you can use it to the max. _________________ |

Well, I trust y'all with my life (my life being my metal ) Anyway, I suppose giving you more specific type of stuff is helpful... Umm, I like mainly classic, power, neo-classical; stuff like that, but I also listen to all kinds of other stuff, so that is also accepted (gotta keep that variety, ya know). Also, as Phoenix Reign said, I just wanna hear any of your personal favorites, too.
And Helloween was definitely on my list, for those who recommended them, as I've been meaning to get into them. |

| ok. Well check out the list I gave you definitely... didn't add a single one as a filler, so yeah........now some favorite albums overall..? here's some if I have to choose say one per band...and this also tends to be stuff where I just have no complaints..but that doesn't make any 'imperfect' album suddenly obsolete or anything. Just saying..
Queensr˙che - Rage for Order Labyrinth - Return to Heaven Denied maudlin of the Well - Leaving Your Body Map Darkseed - Diving into Darkness Running Wild - anything from Port Royal through say Masquerade Gordian Knot - s/t Nightwish - Oceanborn Lengsel - The Kiss, The Hope Rage - Black in Mind The Chasm - Deathcult for Eternity: The Triumph WatchTower - Control and Resistance Dark - Seduction Keldian - Journey of Souls Fates Warning - No Exit Cult of Luna - Somewhere Along The Highway Vanishing Point - Embrace the Silence
there's definitely some more, just throwing those off the top of my head.

| Nevermore - Politics of Ecstasy, Dreaming Neon Black, Dead Heart in a Dead World, This Godless Endeavour - (progressive power thrash [how's that for a descriptor!]) Metallica - first four if you don't already have them Symphony X - progressive power Opeth - Blackwater Park - if you can handle a mix of death and clean vocals, the musicianship of the instruments is worth it! Their newer stuff has more clean vocals. |

| Having that doesn't mean don't have 'No Exit', those are the best ones. You're allowed to like more than one or two things per band. |

| Ha, that's true, although I wouldn't say No Exit is second best, but that's a discussion for a different thread. For me it's number four or five. |
