Many people are too busy trying to reinvent the wheel, forgetting the talent, quality and originality of the people that paved the way, like Ronnie James Dio.

My intentions for writing "Song for Ronnie James" was to bow down and pay respect to one of the greatest, most influential and unique artists the world has ever known.

When Ronnie passed away so sudden, I wasn't sure whether or not the release of the song should be postponed for a while, but we decided to proceed with the release of the song as planned.

"Song for Ronnie James" was written before Ronnie got sick last year, and it makes me sad to know that he never got to hear it.

I have heard most of this album and it is very good I can't wait to get it, the "Song for Ronnie James" brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it

I'm looking forward to this album but I think "Song for Ronnie James" is awful.

I'm sure Jorn's intentions were entirely honerable.. but that song is absurdly awful. It sounds like a less than affectionate spoof of every Euro powaaaah metal ballad ever recorded.

Infact, it sounds like a particulary cheesy entry to the Eurovision Song Contest.

I like the cover and will be getting this. I know the timing was interesting but he had been working on the album for awhile so its ok in my book.

I didn't like the song at first, but it's grown on me. The lyrics are way cheesy, though. Haha. And the album kicks ass! Can't wait to buy it.

Hopefully, though, Frontiers puts a reasonable price tag on it. The latest live Tesla disc is $24.99! WTF? You'd think with Tesla still being a relatively big 80s band in the US that Frontiers would try to entice buyers. Nope, they try to gouge them. Nonsense. Most other Frontiers releases are $15.99 or $16.99 here. Sigh...

I don't think I know what to think......

There's parts of this where it seems to just really get going and then it sort of doesn't really do anything and kind of plod. But a lot of solo Jorn feels that way. The sentiment is cool, and heartfelt. I guess I wish the song itself was better than it hints at. Cool to hear nonetheless. The intro of the video rules

Is that crow (or raven) some sort of mascot with Jorn? Seems to pop up on most of his albums doesn't it?

Releasing it so soon after the tragic event was way too opportunistic move imo. Then again if Jorn wasn't in it for the money he wouldn't have changed so many bands like handkerchiefs, so I guess it is okay for what it is and will bring some nice cash to his pocket.

Heck if he really wants to reduce criticism, then he should make some proceed for each album sold to Wendy Dio's Cancer fund she has. Or even just say, after costs on this album, all money will go to that cancer fund. I am sure with all his previous projects and future projects he wont be hurting if he did that.

Speaking of which, Wendy is yet to send me the cancer fund donation t-shirt I've paid for a month ago, so in my book there are no saints and sinners in this affair...

This album was in the works, before Ronnie died, and I assume Wedny is ok with it because the Dio tribute album she called on the carpet as opportunistic was the Magic Circle album with Manowar. She was pretty hot about that album on the Official Facebook

I just listened to the tribute song and I like it...especially the solo section. When does this album come out in the US?
