| Now, i'm a big Bon fan but Brian stepped in and just killed. He has his own voice but fits right into the sound of AC/DC perfectly and everything converged on this album. One of the greats. |

Is Let There Be Rock finally out of the Legal limbo? That would be spectacular..... |
They are working on a blu ray/dvd release. I have a DVD boot of it |

| Brian Johnson was not only the perfect replacement for Bon Scott but the only man who could have replaced Bon Scott.
What more can be said about this album that has been said 1000x, this is a classic album |

| Wow - Bon dies and AC/DC come back with a KILLER album - the best selling album of their career!!!!
The band decides to continue and hires Brian Johnson. Brian just nails it on this album. He fits the music perfectly. Granted, I would rather have Bon behind the mic, but since he is gone Brian was the right choice for the band.
Angus and Malcolm really nailed the music on BiB!!!!! Brian's lyrics fit right in with the music - his writing style is different than Bon and lacks the humor that Bon added, but it works and works well.
The production on BiB is perfect, Mutt Lang really nailed this one perfected - a perfectly produced record that captured AC/DC's energy. The production still sounds great to this day. He also changed the guitar tones a bit to fit Brian's voice. This album is arguable Mutt's best work ever.
The songs are all great, even if I am tired of "You Shook Me". This is a perfect Hard Rock/Metal disc that everyone should own and many people do! |

| This album is interesting, the album opens with the bells ringing in mourning for Bon.
the title track makes mention of Bon Scott's sexual braggado and attitude:
Forget the hearse 'cause I never die /I got nine lives/ Cat's eyes /Abusin' every one of them and running wild
And the song 'Have a Drink on Me' which is has Bon Scott written all over it and even makes mention of the creed he lived and died by:
Take it today /Forget about the cheque/ We'll get hell to pay Have a drink on me
Brian Johnson sings like his life depends on it. the boys sound great and still love the album.

That still gives me a chill down my spine when I hear it. Just thinking about it right now gives me shivers. An former co-worker of mine used to tell the story of listening to this album and once during the repeated chorus of "Givin' the dog a bone", his mom leaned into his room and said "Just give the damn dog a bone already and shut the hell up about it". That always makes me chuckle. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007

This pretty much sums up this album for me. This is the first AC/DC album I owned and unwillingly it became one of the soundtracks of my early twenties. Don't get me wrong, it is a fantastic album, but my wife and I started hanging out with her younger sister and boyfriend, and all of their friends and this is the only rock album they listened to. There's nothing like taking bong rips and keg stands while "You Shook Me All Night Long" is playing in the background. Good times. But, I got burned out really fast. It was a while before I could play this album and enjoy it again!!!

Yeah as I understand some folks in the manufacturing plant might of just decided to print some up themselves... Don't ask how.... but yea both colors are extremely scarce....
As I've been putting this thread together I've continued to look and find all sorts of rarities.... AC/DC stuff is like Star Wars stuff... You couldn't possibly get all of it.....

| BACK IN BLACK is one of those albums that you just can't throw any sh*t at. It's that rare beast that not only appealed to the band's core fans, but opened them up to the world at large. AC/DC were an Enormo-Dome band from here on.
I personally am a little tired of "You Shook Me All Night Long," which has become one of the Most Overplayed Songs Ever, but beyond that there's really nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. It's a monster, it's a classic, and deservedly so. _________________ "God's the ultimate playa, so naturally He's going to have some haters," rapper Ice Cube said. A few years ago at a family wedding, the dj played 'You Shook Me All Night Long' and my mom, slightly buzzed, leans over to me and says "Ooh, I know this song!AC/DC, right!?!". She was so proud of herself that she knew it. Way to go, mom. _________________ A legend in posting since February 1st, 2007
