Check this band out.

http://menhir.bandcamp.com

That's for their latest album; you can stream it. Wait until "Menhir," the first track, kicks in around the 3-minute mark. BRILLIANT!

I met the singer years ago on the MetalReviews.com forum. I even reviewed their early demo EPs here and here. Killer stuff.

I guess you'd label them melodic death metal, but they lean toward the more brutal death side of things when it comes to the vocals. Musically it's pretty progressive.

Anyway, I really dig these guys. Waiting on the new CD to arrive. Can't wait. I know some of you, like mc666, will love this.

Like a lot of these new melodic death-y bands, the "clean" part sounds much better than the "heavy" parts.

The heavy parts just don't rock enough ... they meander too much.

I can rip you their debut EP, if you want it.

Link to their debut demo. There's a cool little outro that Dan Swano did on "Symbiotic." I believe he mixed and mastered the album for the band, then added all that stuff on a whim. The band dug it, so it stayed. Pretty cool.

The demo isn't as good as their later stuff, but it's still solid. Enjoy!

Let me know if there's any of those "scratchy" noises. When I first started ripping my CDs, I did so on the fastest speed. Those noises are annoying as hell, so I know rip things on the paranoia setting.

I can re-rip it if any tracks are messed up.
