| "Internet" light went red on my router and now my net is down @ home.
I'm on my phone...customer service has to call back...sheesh. |

| atleast your laptops harddrive hasnt failed and everytime you want to use the net for the last three weeks you either have to go to the library or your parents pad.  _________________  |

| OK, if anyone has any ideas:
- All lights on the router are green except "Internet" which is red
- Network connection shows "Connected & Firewalled" like normal
- It happened in the middle of a session...I refreshed a page I was already on and it never came back up
- my phone doesn't even pick up a signal in the house as an available network to try and join, so it must not be broadcasting a signal
Could a piece of malware do something like this? Affect a router? |

I don't believe malware can do something like this. Eyesore is the one to ask on the board. |

| I was going to suggest the rebooting router thing as well. That's the only thing that fixes it when my router's internet light goes red. |

"reboot" as in not just power it off and back on, but use a paperclip and push the "reset" button on the back? |

A buddy of mine's computer is always getting jacked because his kids go on those game cheat-code websites...I keep telling him to threaten his kids with bodily harm over it, especially since I'm the one over there trying to fix it (haha), but then you have child services to deal with, covering the bruises, etc...pain in the ass.

It's not even broadcasting a network signal...it's shot. I have to have it replaced by the provider... |
