Absolutely one of the best Thrash Metal platters ever released.

Not a bad song on this one.

Splendid vocals, amazing riffs headbanger

I've been recently investing into the ANNIHILATOR catalogue. So far, i own a best of (with most of the Alice in Hell tracks), Never neverland, Waking the fury and Carnival Diabolos.

Any other recommendations?

CARNIVAL DIABLOS rules. headbanger

As for other recommendations, pretty much anything up to and including WAKING THE FURY (2002) is gold in my book ... yes, I even like REMAINS (1997) which is more or less a Jeff Waters industrial rock solo album ...my faves would be NEVER NEVERLAND (1991) and CRITERIA FOR A BLACK WIDOW (2000) along with CARNIVAL

I lost interest in the band around ALL FOR YOU, when Dave Padden came on board on vocals, cuz that guy did nuthin' for me.

Figures that Annihilator has changed vocalists every couple of years for most of their history, till Waters finally found a guy I can't STAND, and he's been the regular singer for three or four albums in a row now. Arrrrrgh. Haha.

The only problem I have with Padden's voice is that he's not as unique or distinctive as Annihilator's other singers...Randy, Corburn & Joe all sounds interesting and bring a different flavor to the band...they are not only different from each other, but help Annihilator sound different from other bands.

Padden, while technically not a bad vocalist, is kinda vanilla and lifeless. He brings nothing colorful to the songs the way past Annihilator vocalists have, IMO.

I don't have a problem with Padden. I think he's gotten better on each release (I still need to pickup the self titled cd). As for Carnival, that is one fantastic album! I'd recommend just about any Annihilator album but another favorite of mine is King Of The Kill.

It have some good songs. I remember that the title track is very good and the singer is great of course on this album (ex-LIEGE LORD) but i didnt play it in sometime and i will have to get the cd and listen to it soon. I really like the last ANNIHILATOR album very much and other faves are REFRESH THE DEMON and KING OF THE KILL. I also think that WAKING THE FURY is better then CARNIVAL DIABOLOS.

I kinda got into Annihilator backwards -- CARNIVAL was the first CD of theirs I bought. Previously I'd only known Joe Comeau as the guitarist in Overkill, so I picked up CARNIVAL cuz I was curious to see if he could sing as well as he played guitar. (I was dimly aware of his past as a vocalist for Liege Lord but had never heard them...) I dug CARNIVAL so much that I went back and picked up all the past Annihilator stuff, plus Liege Lord's material too!

The dudes voice has no aggression. He makes a mean song sound safe.

I slightly prefer Waking the Fury, but this album is excellent as well. My favorite Annihilator lineup besides Alice In Hell/Criteria For a Black Widow lineup.
