| Can someone please tell me whether the following albums:
Iced Earth and Night of the Storm Rider
from the 2008 mini LP re-issue series are the remixed versions that were released with the Dark Genesis boxset?
Thanks. |

| Both are remixed and included in the boxset "Dark Genesis." I did not know that they were released as mini LPs. My remixed versions came in Jewel cases. The original versions are out there, but are not so easy to locate. |

| I have the original versions. My Night of the Stormrider version is actually the first pressing released in Germany with the first original album cover http://mattbarlow.imageworks.dk/pics/night_of_the_stormrider1.jpg |

Thanks. | On the forum someone mentioned before that after the boxset was released, the company started to sell these cd's individually. So I asume these are the same from the boxset |

Yeah I'm definitely tempted to. The thing I already have most of the IE albums (with the exception of the self-titled). The only ones I am missing and considering to get in the mini LP format are Alive in Athens and Days of Purgatory.
The collector in me wants to get all the mini LPs so I can have the complete set (I only have Something Wicked from the mini LP series).
For me, it kinda comes down to whether I want something just for the packaging (and some extra bonus songs) or get something new (for example, stock up on more Saxon albums of which I don't have too many).
If I were to get all the IE mini LPs, with postage I'd be looking at spending about 70 bucks (cause I live in Australia so no free postage). If there was a way to get free postage I'd get them in a whim no question about it. I mean 36 bucks or whatever it is for the whole mini LP series (when on ebay it goes for 300). But 70 bucks, I think well I can probably get something I don't already own.

| I own it and I really like the box set. I own all the originals as well. I like the packaging and all the covers on the mini lp's are the originals but I think some of the booklets are different. Its been a while since I looked at it. The cds themselves look realy cool too because on top they look like a record and on the bottom they are black instead of silver. Its just an all around cool box set. It's worth the $70. I got it when it came out so I paid a lot more than that. _________________ |

| If you have them, get something else. I completed my iced earth collection with the deal from CM distro. I am just waiting for them to arrive, which is 2 long weeks that feels like a month. |

| I'm seriously considering buying all of the Mini LP's from CMDistro. I don't care how long it takes me to get them. I've got copies of "Something Wicked This Way Comes", "Tribute to the Gods", and Framing Armageddon so far, and I just pre-ordered Dystopia.
I like the fact that their slightly cheaper (Their still selling for $6.80 per album for most of them) which means that I can complete my collection alot faster because I can buy more of them in one go. In fact I think I might be able to afford up to "The Dark Saga" because of the Mini-LP's.
I also just like the idea of how their packaged as small records, it seems fitting in a way. |
