Maybe everyone here's seen this, but it's new to me!!!

This looks, feels, smells and most likely tastes like spam to me.

Why would you post this here? What does it have to do with music?

my bad... I apologize I thought this was some sort of spam related thread. I've seen it on other forums where peoples accounts have been hacked.

Sorry I am not familiar with Vengeance Rising so I had no idea who Roger Martinez was. You should make it clear in your posts though as not everyone here will be familiar with the band and may assume it's just some spam message.

It looks like he has straightened his life

He's on facebook now. Supposedly he sells real estate. He's still doing the music thingy (well, at least he says he is) with free music for those who are part of the armed forces. I have not heard any of this music, I have no idea how to get this music.

From what I've read elsewhere, he promises and says that he is putting out new music, or an album, but so far fails to deliver. Its kind of sad really. At least he's channeled his energy into something constructive and doesn't seem insane anymore.

is it me or do people have this moribid fanscination with Roger? I dont understand why people wont just let him be and live his life.

It does seem that way, doesn't it? I'm not a fan, so I don't particularly care, but he's a certainly popular topic 'round here.

I guess it's because of all the wacky stuff he says. Sorta like watching a crazy homeless person ranting on the street. You know it's wrong, but you can't look away.

The fascination is long gone for me but it was interesting to see somebody who was not only a pastor of a church but somebody I was involved in music ministry with here and there do such a 180.

The fascination is still there for me. One reason is the impact Vengeance Rising had on me musically. I don't remember ever being as excited as I was when I first heard them. It might have had something to do with how young I was. I still listen to them almost daily. Also, to me, there's sort of a mysterious element to the whole thing (the band and the whole Roger ordeal), which keeps me intrigued. With the internet I feel like I lost alot of that feeling with metal in general. For instance, another band I flipped over is Darkthrone. Back in the day, i could barely get any info on them, and I got their albums and shirts from mail order. That kept my interest peaked. Now that the internet's here, I can find out what kind of conditioner Fenriz uses and what Nocturno Culto had for breakfast this morning. No more mystery. With Roger, however, I rarely find anything new. I talked to him a couple times via e-mail when he opened that first website in the late nineties, but stopped after he asked for my phone number. Anyway, every six months or so I'll do a little digging and see if i can find anything new (which is how i found those vids last night).
