| Hi folks Has anynoe heard these guys? They're a thrash band who sing about pirates. The vocalist/bassist Admiral Nobeard a.k.a. Patrick Henry sounds a bit like Barney fron Napalm Death ... and looks like Peter Griffin from Family Guy! I only discovered these guys recently. They've put out the following three albums: * Crewed by the Damned (2006) * Back to the Noose (2009) * Crime Always Pays (2010) Well worth checking out, if you're looking for a some fresh thrash to listen to.

| My son loves their version of the SpongeBob Squarepants theme song. He says "Dad ,can I listen to SpongeBob Metal on your Zune?" |

| I think they're kind of terrible. If I want some kind of pirateness, I'll definitely go for Alestorm instead. |

| Nah, nothing beats Running Wild for me.
That is pirate metal at its best imo - that I've heard at least.
Alestorm is too ... folkish for me, which is generally not quite my thing. |

I saw Alestorm a couple of years ago at the first Scion Fest in Atlanta. They were great live.
I agree with Alex that Running Wild is the best band doing the pirate theme. |

| Yeah, Running Wild are great actually. But I never really felt that the music was that "piratey" in comparison to a band like Alestorm. But in general terms, Running Wild are the superior band - without question. |

| Blech.
Didn't like it at all. As for Alestorm, there is NOTHING good about keytars...but thats just too trivial. Just didn't care for them either. Maybe it's the lousy vocals for both bands. I'll go with that one.
ALTHOUGH....
I love RUNNING WILD, numerous tattoos, shirts and albums later they're still one of my top 10. |
