I actually like all of those albums.

Despite the horrible drum sound on St. Anger the songs aren't that bad. Also it helps to watch the DVD instead. The sound is actually better.

Are you kidding? Their lyrics went from thought provoking to pre-school.

I'm not a lyric person. Of course there are bands I listen to where I cringe on something corney they wrote in a song but otherwise I mostly like music for the music. It also depends on the band. Some bands can write good lyrics and some can't but theres something else that draws me into them. Like Annihilator, lyrics to any of those songs are rediculous and at times very childish but the music makes up for it.

St. Anger though I must admit I never heard Risk. I like the other albums mentioned so it was an easy decision.

Those are all bad albums in their own little way, but what sets Metallica's "St. Anger" apart from the rest is the production. There is no way that an album that comes out in the year 2003 should sound that bad. Had I not chosen "St. Anger", I would have gone with "Hear in the Now Frontier".

1. Metallica - St. Anger (Horrible production w/average songs)
2. Queensryche - Hear in the Now Frontier (I haven't enjoyed an offering since Empire)
3. Anthrax - Stomp 442 (I can't even tell you the last time I listened to this album. I think it's boring, and that's odd to say about an Anthrax album, especially coming off the great Sound of White Noise)
4. Van Halen - Van Halen III (I will give Van Halen just a little break here, since they never should have introduced another singer into the band)
5. Iron Maiden - (No Dickinson or Di'Anno, then I'm just not interested. Bringing Bayley into the fold was almost career suicide for the band)
6. Megadeth - Risk (Bad album for Megadeth, but better than everything else listed. There are still some enjoyable tunes on this one, but it was a huge step back for them.)
7. Def Leppard - Adrenalize (This is not even close to being their worst album. I would have gone with Def Leppard's latest effort or "X", which was absolutely atrocious! Had that album been part of the vote, then it might have won as the worst one on the list).
