Some really quick first impressions on my $1 buys:

Black Abyss - decent Heavy Metal/Power Metal...not of the "flower metal" variety...cool.

Moonspell - I had heard them before...I call it "Dracula Metal"...very dramatic and Gothic...good stuff.

Divinity - reminds me of Into Eternity...cool.

Holy Moses - Like a more German Arch Enemy...Thrash/Death hybrid...cool.

Eden's Fall - like a modern Power Metal...dark & heavy...lots of tight, "chugga" riffage and agressive, but clean, vocals.

Crystal Tears - nice surprise! Greek Heavy Metal with a strong, gutsy female vocal...like a blend of Doro & Leather (without Leather's effortless soaring Dio-isms). Probably my favorite of the bunch.

Carnal Forge - like a mutated, very pissed off Thrash Metal...cool.

Grip Inc. - wasn't sure what to expect going in, but it's like a blend of early Machine Head and later Slayer...groove mixed w/ Thrash...cool.

Haha. They're a cool goth-metal band, similar to Moonspell's mellower stuff.

My best deal of all time was Allman Brothers - Fillmore East, the 2 CD Deluxe Edition brand new...for 5€ (while at the amazon itself was charging 25€ for it). I was surfing late night at Amazon and saw the offer on it's Marketplace 2€ (+3€ shipping costs) and thought "That has to be a joke". I bought it anyway, believing that either nothing arrives or a completely damaged version.
Two weeks later a package arrived, from Colorado USA, with the album...brand new. Seeing as how expensive it is to send a package from the USA to Germany, i think they didn't even made a profit on it. But i was happy.

Recently i got the Femme Fatale (80's Glam) album used for 5€, they guy sold a lot of old albums and had no clue about them, callind the band "some shitty 80's crap" and was happy he got 5 for it. Seeing as how the album is pretty rare and usually gets sold for 50-60€ around here, i was excited.

No it's not. You don't like it. Get rid of it.

I'll dispose of it properly.

You know what's funny...this store has no idea what's in their inventory OR how to prince things.

They had this Las Cruces in the $1 bin...and the SAME EXACT CD in the regular Metal section for $10 (it was $12) because it's supposedly "rare"...haha! There are a couple more $1 bin CDs that are also in the regular Metal section for $3, $4...idiots.

Then they want $16 for an Overkill CD, $16 for a Solitude Aeturnus CD (that's been reissued twice)...no clue.

Can't tell you how many times I've seen the same thing. It makes no sense. I hate overpriced CDs! At Nuggets in Boston, it seems like any 80s rock CD is automatically priced at at least $10, even the common stuff by Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Poison, etc. Then the rarer stuff is like $15 to $20...or more! Drives me mad.

Have you ever see it where the crappy-looking used CD is more money than the brand-new sealed copy? That always makes me laugh.
