| Kmorg had this to say as part of his Animal House review: Fresh out of Accept, and Udo debuts with a heavy metal platter that doesn't stand back from anything the man ever released with his "mother band". Consider the commercial approach of 'Russian Roulette' and even more so, 'Eat The Heat', and then listen to 'Animal House'. There is no doubt in my mind that Udo wanted to continue playing real heavy metal, and so he left an already successful band to do so. (And for the record, he has continued to do so ever since!) Fact is, this album has everything an Accept album ever had, and maybe even more so! It's actually quite the travesty that people are still yelling "reunion" when Udo have always continued to carry the metal torch higher!
Kudos Kmorg! Couldn't agree more. Why do we need an Accept reunion when we have U.D.O. I actually think the U.D.O. catalog is overall more consistant and stronger than the overall Accept catalog.
Which do you all prefer? |

| I must refrain from voting as I've only heard Accept. Their only album I own is Balls to the Wall and I like it. I've heard a bunch more of the stuff though, just don't own anymore albums. I keep looking at Metal Heart at the music store, but I never pick it ip. Never heard any U.D.O. Maybe I should... |

You must IMMEDIATELY go out and purchase Accept's "Restless & Wild". It is Heavy Metal 101. No metal fan should be without it.
Yes, U.D.O. rules. You can't go wrong with any UDO album. |

| I've heard Udo's Holy and one more album which I can't remember right now, but I wasn't impressed at all - I don't know, I'll have to listen to it again! Accept are one of my favourite heavy metal bands!!!! So, Accept for me, no doubts! I've also seen the original Accept live! They ruled!! And the best part was, that Anthrax and Megadeth were coming right after them (Just a bit too short) Set list: Starlight, Living For Tonight, London Leatherboys, Metal Heart, Breaker, Head Over Hills, Restless And Wild, Son Of A smurfette, Monster Man, Fast As Shark, Princess Of The Dawn, Balls To The Wall. |

| Thought you'd might get a kick out of that one, Scott. I voted both equal, simply becasue that is the case for me. But i also think that Accept as a heavy metal reckoning force ended with Russian Roulette, and continued with U.D.O. Eat The Heat, and all the reunion albums were never as good as anythnig UDO delivered. But I will say this though, that a name is a powerful thing that people get attached to. My precious Savatage is a perfect example. Now, we all now that Jon Oliva's Pain is Savatage anno 2007. He is delivering much better material using his new moniker, and this is the sound we have been longing for forever. Still we can't seem to let go of the Savatage name. The Savatage we all "grew up with" died with Criss, and although they have released some stellar albums since then, it is the classic stuff we all are hoping for. Now, Jon is delivering that once more, but most people still scream Savatage. Same thing with UDO/Accept. Udo delivers, but people want the Accept name. _________________ |

| I have said many times that I think the UDO catalog is much more solid. I love Accept (even Eat The Heat, which I think is a GREAT album...), but prefer UDO. Arttie _________________ Constitutional separation of church and state is a lie; it is a figment of the secular-progressive mind.

| Sorry for dragging this old thread up but I have been listening to a lot of Accept/U.D.O lately. I only purchased my first Accept album 2 months ago which was Balls to the Walls and instantly fell in love with the band. I went straight out and purchased restless and Wild and started to try and find other albums. At the same time I came across Mastercutor and thought this was awesome and started collecting U.D.O aswell. I must say, where the hell have I been all this time, how have I not been into Accept/U.D.O before. I now have 6 U.D.O albums so far and most of Accept excluding Eat The Heat and the first couple of albums. IMO U.D.O's music is far more consistent than Accept. I have loved every U.D.O album I have got. The last 2 Accept albums Predator and Death Row were hard to get into as it took me a while to find anything I really liked. |

Huh?
I had to vote "love them both equally". Yes, UDO is stronger in every way, but the nostalgia factor just won't allow me to make any other choice. It's a funny thing, but as metal gets more technically proficient, it doesn't really seem to get better to my ears. The older songs might be more simplistic, but they are every bit as enjoyable to me.

| I've only recently been getting more and more into both bands, so I haven't found a clear winner yet. The Accept stuff is just classic metal, but UDO does seem more consistant. I voted that I like 'em both equally, but as my collection grows, I could see leaning more towards UDO. |
