I dont worry too much about it, I certainly dont lose any sleep worrying about the music industry. As long as my turntable still works, I'm care free.

I read that vinyl sales expanded by something like 70 percent last year, the only part of the music industry that showed growth. That's something at least.

Yes, vinyl has been on the rise for several years...but it's still like less than 5% of all music sales, so that growth doesn't exactly help stop the bleeding.

But I for one am extremely happy to see both vinyl and analog recordings return....

I keep almost pulling the trigger on a turntable but money is tight.

The music industry is imploding. Digital will not save it. Don't confuse this with music dying though. That will always be around but the industry is toast. The internet has destroyed their monopoly on content and distribution. I say good riddance.

I was in a used music shop this past Sunday night at 7:00. It was full of people, not packed, but full of folks looking through racks of cds, making purchases. 7:00 on a Sunday night.

It might be slowly dying, but people are still buying music no matter what the pie charts say.
