I was prepared to crap all over this when I read your description of a Latin Funk band doing Sabbath, but this is damn good!

Same here. I thought the joke would wear thin after a song or 2, but I'm actually enjoying this.

I don't care what style of music, you really can't sing AC/DC with a clean voice. You gotta have some grit.

I don't listen to much death metal but this is a great cover, I like the whole record, very early Death.

Add Raven's entire Party Killers album to the list of "Killer Covers". Even the more well-known tunes have been made-over and given that unique Raven-esque quality. It reminds me of how Anthrax used to put their stamp on song covers and make them their own.

Saw Tom Keifer last night. Came out and just nailed Joe Cocker's - A Little Help from my Friends. The place went apeshit.

I just can't get enough of Screaming Females at the moment and I love Garbage. This is also somewhere on my list of all time favorite songs.

Brilliant! For a girl who looks like she would be happier with a Smiths LP and a book of lesbian poetry she can rock that thing!

I thought this was cool. It's a bonus track from the last Communic album. A cover of Overkill's 'In Union We Stand'....

They slowed down the tempo a bit and made it sound more, I dunno, epic or something. Made it sound more like a Nevermore tune, which if you know Communic, isn't that far of a stretch.

I don't post in here very much, or even look at this thread often, but I feel compelled to throw in this awesomely raucous and wild version of "Summertime Blues" that may, for me, edge out Blue Cheer's as the definitive (I have so many versions of this song in my collection...but I love all the covers I've heard so far). This one comes from the Back From the Grave comp series of 60s garage/punk no-hit wonders...it's excellent.

One of the best Black Sabbath covers I've ever heard.

Soul singer Charles Bradley reimagines "Changes" as a classic soul ballad and it's f'n perfect.

(the video is really odd, but it's the music that's important...and that voice!)

I'm not familiar with Disturbed at all (other than basically who they are), but I do like this version of Sound of Silence.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a "killer" cover but it's certainly strange. I was reading a recent interview with John Gallagher of Raven online and it mentioned that British pop singer and large breasted poster gal Samantha Fox had done a dance-pop version of Raven's "Hard Ride," (!!!) re-arranged and re-titled "Giving Me A Hard Time" (snicker, chortle). Some of the lyrics were changed around but it's definitely based off of that Raven track.

I am not sure how this factoid has managed to slip under my radar for all these years since I'm a massive Raven fanboy and a long time Samantha Fox stalker, but ... (shrugs) John Gallagher himself sez in the interview that Raven weren't even made aware of its existence till a couple of years ago.

I just discovered this today, so I thought I'd share. It's kinda cool. Stiv Bators, former frontman of punk legends The Deadboys, covered the Ramones tune 'Poison Heart'.

Not sure when this was recorded. Near as I can figure, it's from the Last Race album released in '96, six years after his death.

Loving this album at the moment! I got my music box version and it's creepy as hell (It plays a music box version of the intro to suspiria while a blood stained ballerina spins round! affraid)
