This Who cover by Redemption came up on my shuffle on the way into work this morning.

They don't do much different from the original, but Holy Christ is John Bush's vocal performance powerful. The trade-off between him and Ray Alder just sends shivers.

Given the title of this thread, I didn't post this cover first! Haha.

And since we're talking about Less Than Jake...

Unexpected, eh? Haha.

These are the only horns I want in Slayer

Speaking of Leather Leone, I always loved this Chastain version of Barracuda.

lol!

Did you listen to it, though? They played them straight, no ska, no horns, no punk. Pretty funny, actually.

Yea, around the 3:08 mark. That's why I made the comment. Otherwise I can't say I'm familiar with Less Than Jake. The name rung a bell though.

Well, yeah, I guess there's that. Haha. But otherwise they went for a straight cover. Typically they are definitely a full-on ska-punk band.

Taking this thread title absolutely literally here's Uncle Acid covering a song written by Charles Manson

Been looking forward to this since it was announced, it's one of my favourite songs and they haven't ruined it.

This one is better.

Neither is great.

It's this one that I'm not keen on. If you are going to do a Cohen cover, don't do it like a poor Cohen impersonator. Mad

Both songs sound like afterthoughts to me.

I've only heard a handful of All That Remains songs, but this cover is pretty cool IMO:

Dam! Pete Townshend wrote some great music.. Excellent cover. Big difference is the guitar soloing, Pete can't touch that.

Keith Moon's drums are missed on this. John does a nice take on Daltry's vocals, Hell, He sings his ass off on this.. Great job..

Daltry in his prime was the man..

Just my 2 cents

Nope. That cover is awful. That is the only country song I genuinely like. I've always said it would make for a great metal song. This version is no good. Has no power.

Dead Season, however, did a badass version of it.

I actually like both covers versions of that song but I do agree the one Eyesore posted has more "power"

And going back several posts, I'm a huge Less Than Jake fan and I think they can cover just about anything.

Case in point, this EP:

Some are "ska'd up" and some aren't but c'mon, we're not just talking TV show theme songs here; we're also talking about commercial jingles.  I seriously think Less Than Jake is talented enough to cover pretty much anything.
