Never in my mind would I have though about buying a Queensryche Bootleg CD, however being the Overkill fanatic that I am when I saw this, nothing was going to get in my way.

I think I remember seeing that bootleg on vinyl back in the day. Struck me funny to see "Chaly" on a Queensryche disc.

That's pretty funny. I also enjoy the bad spelling and out-of-date band photos that usually accompany these types of things as well.

I'm a fanatic for live recordings of any kind (bootleg or not). Too many people ignore live recordings, you really don't know a band until you hear what they can do in concert. That's the truest test of all.

It's a sickness and there is no cure.

I love bootleg recordings and live albums in general. I am always surprised how many peps on this board do not care for live albums.

I don't hate live albums but to be honest in many cases I don't feel the need to hear'em unless I've seen the band live. Otherwise it just seems like a case of "See what you missed?"

Also, when certain bands have seemingly dozens of live CDs (I'm looking at YOU, Iron Maiden), I'm usually happy with owning just one.

When it comes to bootlegs, the few that I have are mainly bands I was really geeked on at the time (i.e. Metallica, Type O Negative, KISS) and just wanted to own as much material by them as possible.

This thread reminds me that one of these days I'm gonna have to see about getting the bootleg VHS I have of an Overkill show I was at transferred to a DVD - you can see me bopping around in the crowd a couple of times throughout the show.

Freddy echoes my sentiments exactly on live albums. Don't hate 'em, don't love 'em. Most of the ones I own, it's either bands I have seen live already or bands I've wanted to, but never have or will.

And the same goes for bootlegs, only for the bands I was absolutely bonkers for.

I love 'em as well. I like to hear the energy a band has live without all the studio overdubs or fixes of some live albums.

I live live bootlegs, especially ones that are DVD with feed from the screen and soundboard audio - I have a few of those with Maiden, good stuff!!!

I have a few bootleg tapes of Aerosmith from the 70's and Steven Tyler sounds absolutely HORRIBLE. Slurring the words, singing the wrong lyrics, etc. If that's all I had to go on, I doubt I'd be an Aerosmith fan.

Maybe subconsciencely that's what turned me off to live albums. I'd rather hear the polished studio product.

All I can say, is you guys who don't like live albums are evidently listening to the wrong bands.

I like bootlegs a lot. I enjoy the shows and listening to stuff live. Helloween practically has a side catalog of boots

My friend has an entire CD shelf devoted solely to Grateful Dead bootlegs, there are hundreds and hundreds of them.
