Necro actually used to play in a metal band called Injustice in the late 1980s/early 1990s. They were quite good.
Also, one of his albums, The Pre-Fix for Death, had the cover art drawn by Ed Repka, who made album covers for Megadeth, Nuclear Assault, Vio-lence, etc.

However, if I picked up this album, strictly by the name and Ed Repka cover art, I think I'd be highly disappointed with the noise coming outta my speakers.

True. Molly Hatchet were a Southern Rock band, but they were one of the first and few to incorporate Heavy Metal into their sound, even though they were never a pure heavy metal band. (Same with Blackfoot.)

The cover art for their album Bad Dreams looks pretty metal.
