| Heard this on the radio the other day and thought it was interesting. Granted my Country music knowledge is infantile to my metal knowledge, but I don't recall anyone doing this before to this kind of degree.

| Maybe I should have said hard rock instead of metal. But its decent if you can get past the dumb lyrics. |

| Jesus. I know this song. Dating a girl who loves country kinda sucks. Haha.
As for this kind of country, it's got some heavier guitar in it, but I think a lot of this new country is pretty much stripped down pop rock. It's definitely not country in a more traditional sense. _________________ "Happy people have no stories" —Therapy? Shock Totem | The Eyesore Times | Getcha Rocks Off |

| I try not to listen to much new country but this one caught me by surprise with the chunkier guitars. |

My wife digs them. I have to admit their stuff is kinda rockin'. They look like they'd be funny as hell to see live too. I mean, their videos are full of hot chicks, midgets, things exploding... if their concerts are half as cool as their videos they must be something to see!! _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

Exactly. I went to Toby Keith with my wife and it was an 80's arena concert with a fiddle. |

| I like that song.
I don't care what anyone says, "nu country" is the old Southern Rock.
Another band that's similar to this is LoCash Cowboys.
BTW, don't Big And Rich do the "Comin' To Your City" song that ESPN College Football Gameday uses for it's opening? |

| I have no respect for an artist that plays the fence on styles like this. It's the same with that whole rock/rap crap that was popular about a decade ago. I'm all for artistic expression, but that is just not appealing to me. |

I'll go with that.
It seems to me that country actually has something in common with metal in that there's always this tension and second-guessing from the fanbase and occasionally other artists regarding authenticity, who's "really country" and who's just pretending or going Hollywood to get the mainstream success. |

Yup, that's them. It's the title track to their 2nd album. _________________ "Boys, set the terror level at code brown, 'cause I need to change my pants." -- President Hathaway, "Monsters vs. Aliens"

| That is a great, southern rock style song. I lump Earle in with the country, outlaw movement. |

I agree with you on this but you still have to be invited into their selective group. That is wahy country music is so small artists wise.

| Not bad, love Steve Earl, Copperhead road isn't even his best song, but still very good. That Hank III is crazy/strange....not bad either.
I like Chris Ledoux a lot...More country rock.
Hank jr. with hog wild, rock n country...

| I always thought "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" could be translated into hard rock. (Think Steve Vai in Crossroads)

| The initial song in this thread would be great if the singer never opened his mouth. |

I have to agree, the singer sucks lol.
I checked out Hank III a few weeks ago and I liked his stuff. My only complaint is in the lyric department....it seems like all his songs are about drinking a drugs.
I'm really digging Big & Rich though. |
