Mindcrime. I remember when I first heard this lying in bed while on vacation as it was playing on college radio. The announcer came on the air and said his phones were ringing off the hook to play it again.

Mindcrime. Maybe Iron Maiden if that album didn't have the song "Can I Play With Madness" on it. But Mindcrime is excellent all the way

Double 'Pfft', 'Operation Mindcrime' I feel is an intelligent well written concept album and if you are going to worship a band you could do worse then Pink Floyd

I know every song on Seventh Son by heart while I only retain memorance for three songs off Mindcrime. If it was against Empire then it would be a much tougher decision.

I really think Mindcrime is an overblown, boring, pretentious piece of Pink Floyd worship.

ditto, although "Pink Floyd Worship" is a bit much, I agree that it isnt that great. 7th Son is a great Maiden album, their last truly great record, until maybe "Brave New World".

This one is so close. I'll close all three polls tomorrow and do the final, 1976 - 1989 poll.

While Seventh Son is a great Maiden album (one of my top three for them, in fact), there's more ideas and a better executed concept on Mindcrime. Two of my absolute favourite bands here, though!
