It didn't. Master of Puppets made the Thrash List for 1986. Once we got into 1985 there was too much metal and thrash to keep them on the same list, so we split the list up. There is a thrash poll here as well.

I hate the whole GnR image, but i must admit that Appetite is one of the best albums ever recorded.
In addition, and on a personal level, it brings back so many souvenirs from high school, as this was where it all began for me. |

| I totally forgot to vote in this one. As great as all of these albums are, this is simply a no brainer for myself. Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" was a difference maker in my life, and will simply never be surpassed in terms of quality on both the lyric and musical front by that of Metallica. |
